Amira sat on the couch in the small living area while watching the hacker type away on his computer. She had told him all they had found out prior to Kai being gone. As a matter of fact, she was now worried about him. Where did he go? Was he okay? Why didn't he call?

Maybe she should go to the police...

Quickly, she glanced at the clock on the wall. Twenty-four hours hadn't passed yet so there was no way the police would help at this point. It was then a thought popped into her head.

"Hey, can you track cellphones?"

He stopped typing and turned to look at her. "Yes, I can but if you're going to ask me to track Kai's phone then you're too late. I tried that already. His phone is dead or destroyed."

"Where last was it active?"

"Somewhere close to Amsterdam."

"Are you serious?" she scooted closer to the edge of the couch. "Why didn't you tell me this? I think we should go find him. Kai would know what to do,"

"Amira, our best bet is to go to the feds. They'll help to find Kai."

"No, the one thing I've learned throughout this whole ordeal is that you find out more information on your own. The police will only slow us down,"

"Look, I'm all for going against the norm but there's no way we can find Kai since his phone is dead. Amsterdam is a huge place. I think we should focus on finding out why someone was after us," he turned back around to continue typing.

"And how are you going to find them?"

"I memorized one of the license plate numbers. So now I'm running it through the system to try and get a match. I've also got a man down at the DVLA. I'll give him a ring in a few,"

Amira sat back and didn't say anything. She really didn't have a good feeling about this. Kai would know what to do.

Why would the hacker want to go to the police? He was basically committing cyber crime by hacking into accounts. Also, if the police looked into the issue then they'd see that they've been sticking their nose where they shouldn't...

"I think we need to relax for a while. You fancy a drink?" she heard him ask her.

"I thought we had to stay low,"

"Trust me, no one will see us. It's what you'd call a hole in the wall,"

Reluctantly, Amira agreed and they left the apartment. She could feel the cold air through the jacket she had on and tried to pull the garments tighter around her torso. The hacker, on the other hand, was walking like the cold didn't bother him.

I guess he was used to this weather, she thought.

Thankfully, they didn't walk for too long. She just mindlessly followed behind him as he turned down different streets and walked through little antique shops. Finally, they settled inside a little bar with about five tables total at the front and the actual bar at the back with six bar stools. Amira followed behind him and they sat on the bar stools and faced the bartender— a dark skinned male with striking light brown eyes.

"Wah'gwan my G!" The bartender greeted the hacker with their half-hug-half-handshake thing.

"I'm good, fam. Have you seen Mikey from my ends? I need to make a link,"

"Nah, last I heard Mikey skipped town with wifey 'cause he owed bossman a lot of money,"

The hacker raised his eyebrows, "is it?"

"Yeah, but I can link Joshua instead for you. He took over Mikey's spot,"

"Bloody hell, mate. I've only been gone for three months and all of this shit happened?"
