"Then it must be Tom's accomplice. He knows we're here," (19)

Amira wrapped her arms around Kai's neck as soon as he came through the door. She hugged him as tight as she could and cried.

"I'm so sorry, Kai. I should have looked harder,"

Kai returned her hug. "There was no way you would have found me,"

Once she pulled apart, she saw the bruises on his face. "What happened?"

"It's nothing. Are you alright?"

"A little sore but I'll make it," she smiled at him then turned to the agent. "How did you find him so quickly?"

"He was already in MI6 custody. I told my superiors that you'll both cooperate with the investigation in order to release him,"

"What? So you're telling me your MI6 agents kidnapped him for days and beat him up?" Amira couldn't believe they were capable of doing such things to innocent people.

"Actually, we got intel saying he was involved and dangerous so we did what we thought was necessary."

"Who the hell could have given you that information?"

She didn't understand who would do that. No one knew them enough to call the police and say Kai was dangerous... and if so, why did they take him and not her too?

Agent Bryer seemed uncomfortable as he looked over to the other agents in the room.

"Detective Hwang was assigned to your case once the FBI informed us that Tom Davis— or William Cavanaugh— had ties here in London. When we heard you were on a plane to London, Nathan was dispatched undercover as a hacker to obtain whatever knowledge he could get from you."

"You're saying Nathan intentionally had Kai locked up in that place?" She didn't want to believe. Tell her anything else about Nathan but not this... how could someone do this?

"Look, we need to get this bomber before he targets somewhere else. I have to meet my superior now and devise a plan. Stay here and don't let anyone see you. There will be agents outside to protect you," Agent Bryer warned them before leaving the house altogether.

Amira looked at Kai and sighed. "What now?"

"A drink would be nice,"

Micah had the biggest smile on his face as he sat across from Brynne in his new CEO office over at his fathers company, JD Corporation. He didn't expect to see her at work but he wouldn't dare complain. Earlier, he made sure to show her around the office and have everyone see that she was his woman.

For some reason, whenever he saw Jordan around her he would get jealous; despite Brynne telling him that she had nothing with him. He just didn't trust Jordan. Something was going on within the company but Micah couldn't figure out what it was.

What did Jared promise him?

If Jordan wanted to be CEO then Micah would gladly give it over to him... but he had a feeling it was a little more than just the CEO position.

"What do you want for lunch?" She asked him while scrolling on her phone.

"You,"

Brynne rolled her eyes and laughed then. "Be serious. I was thinking maybe some Fried chicken? I haven't had that in a while,"

"Sure, anything works." He stood and walked over to her sitting on the couch.

"I'll order it then," she tapped away on her phone.
