Doc's POV
I left Cobalt in the basement and walked up stairs. I can't believe this is happening too us. I thought Tide was lying. I thought and grabbed a small piece of wood and popped it into my mouth. the wood burst into flames in my mouth then turned to ash. it tasted nice.
"did I seriously just eat a piece of wood and thought it tasted nice?!" I said under my breath. I shrugged it off then popped another piece of wood into my mouth. I was about to walk back into the kitchen, but then I heard a large crash come from the basement.
I sighed deeply not wanting to go back into the basement. I slowly walked down the stairs and burnt a few of the steps from my irritation. Cobalt was holding his head and was falling every which direction.
papers and broken machinery cluttered the floor and tables. I furrowed my eyebrows in aggravation. I hate cleaning... I thought and rolled up my sleeves.
Cobalt grabbed the side of a table and faced me with disgust.
"where's Ali?!" he yelled at me making me raise one of my furrowed brows.
"she's in town?..." I trailed off confused as he started to shake his head. his drowsiness began to wear off as he franticly tried to get to the doorway. I stopped him from getting too the door way too the upstairs.
"she's in trouble!" he yelled and fell too the floor with a big thud. I stood over him with a face of pure concern. what do you mean by that? I thought imagining the worst.
a soft knock came from up stairs. I shook my dark thoughts away and quickly walked upstairs and opened the front door.
a man about my hight was standing there. he had a white lab coat on and black jeans. three long scars ran down the right side of the mans face and cut part of his top lip.
"hello, Noah." the tall man said his voice was smooth and nonchalant.
"hello, Dan." I said feeling my body temperature rise just from looking at my old friend and lab partner. he stepped through the doorway and took off his lab coat.
"I see the experiment didn't go very well." he said with a chuckle. he looked back at me and looked me up and down examining my new form.
"fire huh, wish I picked that one." I rolled my eyes and walked into the kitchen to get away from the conversation.
"you can't still be angry about that one experiment, Noah." he said following me into the kitchen where I just sighed and grabbed an apple out of the fridge.
"how's Brandon?" he asked and pulled up a chair. he sat with the back of the chair facing his chest and leaned on the back of it. I turned around taking a bite from the apple and narrowed my eyes at him.
"he's fine." I said sternly not wanting to take the subject of Brandon. we stared at each other for awhile before one of us said anything.
"why are you here? why do you choice now to visit me out of the past years?" I said finishing my apple and throwing it away. Dan sighed and leaned on his left hand.
"why you ask. well... because you and Brandon don't belong here."
"here we go again!" I threw my hands up into the air and pinched the bridge of my nose.
Dan stood up and began walking over to me, but stopped in his tracks. confusion over came him as he looked at the floor. he looked back up at me.
"I don't sense Ali in the house... where is she?..." he trailed off and looked at me with an unreadable expression. Dan's skin started turning grey and a tail came out of the back of his shirt. the tail had sharp, silver spikes all over it.
"she's in town isn't she?" he said and smiled showing sharp teeth. I glanced at the door too the basement. it was open. Dan noticed my glance and started for the door.
I beat him too it and slid down the railing. I blocked him from Cobalt on the floor. Dan came to the bottom of the stairs and looked at Cobalt. fascination over came him expression.
"wow... look at those teeth, and that blue skin..." he trailed off and walked closer too him, but I raised my body temperature causing the fire that made up my body began to turn blue. I could surly melt him at my current temperature.
he began to back off so I softened my temperature. he turned around and began to go up stairs, but he instead flung his tail at me detaching some of the spikes. the spikes spun towards me catching onto my shirt and stuck me to the wall behind me.
I tried to rise my temperature but I was so shocked I couldn't do it before Dan opened one of my machines and pressed a series of buttons. the machine opened a portal that absorbed Cobalt, Dan, and eventually me.
flashing lights passed by me and drowsiness over came me as the lights blurred together and grew black.
