Ace's POV

Ali sat in my lap asleep as I rested my chin on her head watching the fire and listening for anything. I had wrapped my cloak around Ali because she had gotten cold. the cloak was so big on her she could have wrapped it around herself another three times.

I only had a grey sweater, black pants, and my boots on at the time. the air was a little cold, but I kinda liked it. I looked around and saw Ali's hand resting on my leg. I held my clawed hand next to hers. my hand was twice the size of hers and made hers look frail and fragile.

I chuckled to myself at the size difference. pulling out the red book I began sketching Ali's tiny hand next to my giant one. I continued to draw, but stopped when I hear Ali grumble and began to wake up.

I put away the book and grabbed a piece of fruit handing it to Ali. I got up and began to put out the fire. Ali ate the fruit and sighed.

"I didn't know your cloak was so comfortable." she said and stood up with the cloak still wrapped around her.

"I like my cloaks." I shrugged.

"oh please! here you are, Mr Edgy-Mic-Muffin wearing your dark clothes and a mask. you hated people and keep to yourself until I come along. you were just cranky because you were a lonely fart that everyone was scared of!" she bursted into laughter and I watched with a chuckle as she wiped a tear from her face from pure amusement.

"man, you pin pointed me perfectly." I said sarcastically covering the smoldering wood with dirt.

"I know, I can't help being amazing." she said dramatically flip her dark crimson hair with an evil smile.

Ali's POV

Ace finished putting out the fire and I grabbed the orb. I pointed it in a direction and it started to glow a dark blue. I'm coming for you Brandon. I thought and began walking in that direction.

Ace grabbed my shoulder after walking for a while. I turned around to say something, but Ace put his other hand over my mouth and looked into the tall grass ahead of us. I turned around and saw a large wolf.

it was the same purple and black wolf from my childhood. the same one that helped me out of the forest. the same one that had the black horns and three tails. it walked towards us. Ace stiffened up and got into a fighting stance.

before Ace could do anything I walked up to the wolf and looked it in the eyes. its large and soft ears twitched from the sound of the leaves under my feet. I knelt down onto the ground and hugged the wolf.

"thank you..." I whispered to the wolf and let go of it. it ran back into the tall grass and disappeared. I looked back at Ace after getting back to my feet. he looked confused as he looked into the tall grass.

Ace grabbed the orb off the ground and began walking in our original direction. I followed him. I grabbed a fruit from my bag and began eating it. we walked for what felt like hours until we came to another village.

this one was about the same size as the last one, but the buildings and homes were on the tall side. there was a sign that said-

~Welcome to Stratford~

Ace walked into the village without hesitation causing me to follow him. I hid under his cloak as we walked through the town. as we walked down the town's street people would see Ace and walk on the other side of the street.

kids would stop their playing and move aside as Ace approached them.

"what are you doing here, Messenger?" a voice said from behind us. Ace sighed heavily and looked behind him. it was a panda about 7 or 8 inches shorter than Ace but looked stronger. the panda had an eye patch over his right eye and had two swords attached to his belt.

I watched as Ace balled up his fists and glaired at the panda man.

"you have grown a lot since the last time I saw you, Messenger." the panda man said with a chuckle. the panda spotted me and I watched as his eye widened for a second but returned to normal.

"I see you have a little pet with you... you know I'll have to-" before the panda could finish his sentence Ace interrupted him.

"don't you dare touch her, William!" Ace said sternly as his body stiffened and readied itself for a fight.

"you surly aren't the little boy I kicked out of this town some years ago." William folded his arms and chuckled seeming to recall his past of their last encounter.

"listen, I've been protecting this town for many years under the command of the king. you can't just walk in here let alone bring your little pet after I kicked you out all those years ago!" William snapped at Ace. I watched as Ace's dark clawed fingers hissed with sparks of electricity.

"I'm not looking for a fight, but I will if you don't give me your little pet." William held out his hand. what's with everyone calling me a pet?! I thought and glared at the disgusting panda that stood in front of us.

I stood my ground and felt my hair became weightless as it floated in the air and my skin became a little transparent. Ace took a step forward, but I stopped him by putting my hand on his chest. I want to bash his face in! I'm tiered of feeling helpless! I thought and walked toward William placing my hand in his.

"I'm glad we made a compromise-" I interrupted him by pulling his hand down and kneed him in the face. a rush of adrenalin flowed through me. William stud up straight again, but before he could do anything I round house kicked him in the gut.
