Part 19 - Lets have some fun

Dog Boy's POV

a few of my men ran straight at the human girl, but fell to the grown when they got close. she must have a Noble Gas element. I had read about when humans first came to DreamNest. they changed... their bodies combined with certain elements from the human world. 

this "change"...it made them stronger, faster, and in some cases smarter...

watching some of my men drop to the ground made me outraged. I wanted them both dead! a few more of my men jumped forward and attacked.

one threw daggers, another shot an arrow at them. some of them put their shirts over their snouts to block the poison that came from the human girls mouth. 

I took a bandana and covered my mouth and nose. I ran head on towards the human girl seeing she was occupied with a few of my men. her back was turned towards me as I readied my sword to be driven right into her back.

I trusted my sword down, but a sharp pain erupted from the right side of my head. I fell down and held my head I looked at my hand and saw crimson red blood dripping off the fur on my hand.

I went to get up, but was slammed back down by Ace. he held me by my neck as electric blue filled every crevice and crack in his wooden mask. 

"call off your men!" he yelled at me with a threatening tone. I chuckled and gasped for air. I didn't care if I died, but I wanted him to suffer for what he did to my family.

"Grab her!" I yelled and ten of my men surrounded the human girl and tackled her to the ground and held her there by her arms, legs, and neck. Ace gripped my neck even harder from anger at the sight of his pet in pain. 

"let her go!" he yelled and the blue in his mask turned a dark black and black smoke resonated from his body. uh oh... I thought and the ground cracked as lightning struck all my men causing them to fall to the ground and free the human girl.

I growled, but it simmered down into a wimpier as Ace seemed to glare at me through his eyeless mask sending a cold chill down my spine. 

"I warned you." he hissed coldly and punched me causing me to go limp as the world around me grew dark.

Ace's POV

I watched the dog pass out and got back to my feet continuing to glare at the disgusting dog on the ground. I turned around and was almost tackled, but I regained my balance.

Ali was hugging me. I hugged her back and sighed calming my self down as my colors turned back to normal. we sat there for a little while before we broke apart.

we grabbed our things and continued on our path without looking back. Ali grabbed the orb and began pointing it in many different directions. the orb began to glow a dark blue showing Cobalt was in that direction.

Ali smiled and began walking in that direction. I followed her without questioning her decision. I pulled out the red book I had bought and began sketching in it as we walked. we didn't talk for about an hour until Ali came to a stop.

"is everything ok?" I asked and looked at her. she was looking at the glowing orb. 

"lets rest here..." she said trailing off, but I didn't think too much of it. I agreed and began gathering sticks for the fire. she grabbed some large leaves as bedding. the fire light up the area around us as Ali laid the leaves down on the ground.

it was now dark. I sat down across the fire from Ali. she didn't say anything, instead she just laid down facing away from me.

"you've been acting weird since we left the fight. are you ok?" I asked and watched her closely. her chest rising and falling with every breath. she didn't answer me, instead she just pulled the large leaf over her shoulders.

I grumbled from the lack of an answer and stomped over to her. 

"What's your problem?!" I yelled with a grumble under my breath and threw the leaf off her. all my anger dissipated when I saw the tears running down her face. oh crap... did I scare her or something?!...I don't know how to deal with this!

I slowly knelt down onto one knee and wiped the tears from her face. I sat down across from her as she continued to stair at the floor in thought.

"what if their hurt or something?" she said so quietly I almost didn't hear it. her voice was full of pain and worry making a part of me hurt for her. I sighed and hugged her trying to comfort her. she was basically in my lap when she hugged me back. your too good for this world, Ali... I wish you could never feel pain... I thought as Ali fell asleep in my embrace.
