Brandon rushed down into the basement with an ember in between metal prongs. Doc thanked him and put the hot ember into the middle of the test tube. Doc handed Brandon and I some goggles and pointed over to a metal sheet for us to stand behind and watch the display.

I looked through a glass window the metal had and watched the ember start to bubble and melt. Doc started to chuckle from what was happening, in response Brandon facepalmed in embarrassment.

I chuckled at his actions then continued to watch. there was white smoke coming out of the machine, but when the smoke cleared the ember wasn't there, I turned around to see if it shot out of the tube. I looked in the metal box that had the blue blob, it wasn't there.

screaming erupted from behind me making me turn around towards the test tube. Doc's clothes were on fire and beginning to engulf his entire body. I quickly grabbed the fire extinguisher and sprayed the white foam on Doc, but it didn't do anything.

I frantically looked around the room for what might help the situation. an open journal was laying on a table so I ran over and started to flip through the pages to see if it might help.

log 94

the Cobalt element (the blue blob) is starting to grow and I am worried it will out grow its box.... maybe...

I tried to feed the element a live rat to see what it would do, but..... it combined its molecules and the rats molecules together and made a..... monster....

I have tried to conduct the experiment with different elements, like water but just get the same results..... I can't do anything to prevent the elements from combining.....

"wait! no that can't be!" I turned around because without me noticing the yelling had stopped. what I saw was..... was.....the same....

Doc was on the floor passed out from the amount of pain. I couldn't find Brandon anywhere. I carried him up the stairs one at a time and laid them on the couch in the living room. I guess nothing happened? I thought and decided to wait for him to wake up. I sat in a chair across the room.

~two hours later~

"UGH! I am tiered of waiting!" got up and walked out side to the giant garden to pick some apples. for about ten years I have been tacking care of the landscaping around the house, like the garden.

I hated to get the lawnmower and mow the lawn so I instead ripped out most of the grass, planted bushes, flowers, trees, but my favorite one is the giant apple tree I got as a seed and it have been growing for about as long as I have lived here.

there is a giant rock under the tree that I like to sit under and read. I graded a basket from under the tree and started to pick some apples off the tree. the apples were large and red, perfect. I wonder where Brandon is... I thought and heard a shuffle behind me. I slowly turned around and saw it was.... a monster....

it was tall about 8 feet tall and a light blue color, it had no eyes, but some how it seemed like it could see me. it had giant blue teeth that resembled the ones I saw from the blue blob from earlier. the teeth were about the size of my palm, and they looked sharp.

it was very strong looking, all of its muscles were defined making it look even larger than it was. a long blue tail thumped the ground as I moved around from behind the giant creature. I felt small compared to its towering figure. it stepped closer to me making me gasp and back up making my back hit the tree trunk.

I noticed it had a green, ripped shirt. it looked like Brandons emerald green shirt from this morning and it had black sweatpants on as well, but the pants were up to its knees. "B-Brandon?" I asked it. it looked down at it's self and looked back up at me and seemed to smile.

"I'd tell you a chemistry joke but I know I wouldn't get a reaction." it's voice was deep and raspy. the monster started to chuckle and then I knew it was Brandon. his voice had gotten significantly deeper and he had grown about 19 inches.

I smiled a little, but it was more out of sorrow than humor or anything else. we stood there for a wile just....looking at each other....waiting for the other one to talk.

"I think I am loosing my memory." Brandon said bluntly, my eyes widened in shock and disbelief as he dropped his head in despair. I walked a little closer to him studying his form a little closer. his hands had claws, and his feet looked Dragon-like.

"what makes you say that?" I asked as I grabbed one of his hands and ran my thumbs on his rugged palm, his hand was twice the size of mine. "I couldn't recognize you until you turned around." he seemed to stiffen as he explained and I also noticed he gridded his sharp teeth together nervously.

dang, my best friend didn't even recognize me. I can't blame him though.....WAIT DOC!! I thought and let go of his hand and ran inside the house. I busted through the door and looked around for Doc. I saw the bathroom door open and burn marks on the walls and on the floors leading to the room. the burn marks on the floor were in the shape of feet.

I cautiously started to walk over to the bathroom and as I got closer I could see something glowing inside. I pushed the door open slowly as I got a shiver down my spine. holy crap! it feels like I am in a haunted house. I thought and looked into the bathroom to see a tall man with no mouth, glasses, and a white lab cote on that was three-fourths of the way burned away.

the tall man had hair, but instead of having normal hair it was made out of fire....his whole body was on fire. the man slowly turned around to face me and I saw he had glasses that were cracked, just like Doc's classes. his eyes were white ovals that would flared every time he blinked.

"Doc? is that you?" I asked standing up straight and opening the door all the way open. the man looked in the mirror and then back at me. "yes, it's me." I heard Brandon running through the house yelling our names then ran into the bathroom when he spotted me standing in the doorway.

"wow Doc, you are smoking hot today." Brandon said, but then I saw Doc look at him and narrowed his eyes. "well, at least when I get on a scale it won't say, to be continued" I busted up laughing I almost fell to the floor as Brandon snarled "well, I am sorry I am just on fire with my puns today."

"man, root canal work must be deeply unnerving for you." Doc said stepping a little closer to Brandon.

"oh come on, don't get blazing mad at my puns, old man."

"OH MY GOSH! STOP IT!" I said dying from laughter.
