I hid behind Ace as we passed Ravano the giant snake who was staring at me hungrily. I felt like a five year old clinging onto their parent for comfort. Ace didn't seem to care though.

We got far away from Ravano before I backed away from Ace.

"Do all animals talk down here?!" I asked still shaking as I looked behind us to see if Ravano was behind us. He wasn't. "No, just most of them." Ace said sternly.

He wasn't looking at me and seemed to be in his own world as we walked in silence.

did I do something? a part of my mind thought and begged for me to ask him what was wrong. Why do you care?! He got you into this mess! The other part of my mind screamed. But he did protect me from Ravano. My thoughts came to a halt as I grew hungry and all I could think about was food.

"Hey Ace, is there food in VineWay?" I asked, but he just glanced down at me and sighed heavily.

"Yes, we'll go to the food market and get some food once we get there." he said without emotion and continued to look forward.

We walked for what felt like hours until we came upon a giant wood sign that said "Welcome to VineWay" I leaped for joy once I saw the sign. I wanted to kiss and roll around on the ground from pure exhilaration of not walking in thick vegetation any longer.

"Now let's get food!" I yelled and threw my hands up into the air dramatically. I was bursting from every seem with anticipation about food.

I heard Ace chuckle a little from my dramatic flare. "I've never seen someone get so excited over food before." He said with amusement as I skipped happily down the village street. The buildings and houses were covered in vegetation.

there wasn't any kind of electricity in sight the only kind of light source they had were glowing mushrooms, or fire. I looked around in aww, mouth agape. Ace chuckled at my expression as he passed me and walked around the corner.

following him we came into a large area with many booths full of things the village inhabitants were selling. the people that inhabited the village were animals with human like qualities. Ace walked up to a booth full of different fruits.

a tall mantis like creature gave him a bag full of different fruits. she looked exactly like a mantis just giant and acted like a person.

the mantis lady was tall with thin legs and arms. she wore a pink bandana around her head. she seemed a little scared as she handed Ace his fruit with a shaky hand.

Walking around the large shopping area I looked at the booths and the things they had for sale. there was jewelry, food, fabrics, and anything you could need or want. "Ali!" Ace called to me waving his hand in the air telling me we were leaving.

I took one last glance around and ran off back towards Ace. I happily ran back and smiled up at him. I was so intrigued about all of the new things around me. I felt adrenaline pump through my veins from the amount of excitement I had.

your like a five year old going to the grocery store. my mind snarled at me making me calm down as I realized how I was acting. Ace walked into a small house with a vine door with a mushroom for a handle.

the small wooden house was dark, but when Ace walked in it lit up almost like it was magic. he had lamps around the house that seemed to be powered by its self. there were just a few rooms making the small house cozy.

there was a kitchen, an upper floor and a small living room next to the kitchen. this house is so cute and small... just like home... I thought and walked in behind Ace as he set the paper bag full of food on a table by the door.

"welcome to my home." he said taking off the long trench coat he was wearing and set it on the table next to the bag. he had a dark grey sweater on underneath and black jeans.

the Trent coat covered a lot of his body structure and his build, but now that it was off I could see what kind of body structure he had.

he was tall and thin, but built at the same time. his hands were a white, but his fingertips were a sharp, black claw what was covered by his gloves. this sparked my interest making me grab his hand and examine it closer.

"what are you doing now?!" he asked a little irritated, but was softened with a chuckle. his hands were soft and squishy. small sparks of electricity came from his hand which shocked me. I dropped his hand and rubbed mine trying to sooth the tingling sensation it left.

"Don't hold my hand." He said walking into the kitchen with the bag of food. Now I really want to see what you look like under the mask! I thought and walked into the living room.
