A sharp pain woke me up. I pushed myself off the ground and rubbed my temples I pulled my hand away and opened eyes to see grass. when did I get outside? I thought and rolled over onto my back. my entire body was sore it felt like I just ran five miles without a break.

opening my eyes again I saw large stalactites hanging from the ceiling. my eyes widened in shock as I jumped to my feet looking around. a vast new world was in front of me. full of giant glowing mushrooms, new kinds of flowers I've never seen before varying in size and shape. even the grass had its own kind of glow to it.

I saw the tall man standing by a ledge. I walked over to him and stood next to him looking at the new world that laid before me. "what is this place?" I asked looking over at the tall man. his eyes were a soft white and looked calm and pleased. he looked over at me and jumped a little.

"what?" I asked, but all he did was push me over to a close by puddle of water."look at your reflection." he said and I quickly looked. gasping I knelt down and got closer to the puddle. my skin was a light grey, my eyes were a dark blue instead of a silver. my hair was a bright red and darkened to a crimson as it got to the tips.

"what did you do to me?!" I asked feeling my face as a single tear fell down my face. "did you touch any lights bulbs before we entered the basement?" he asked as I racked my brain trying to remember anything I touched. my eyes widened as I realized I did. I jumped to my feel and grabbed the cloak of the tall man bringing him down to my eye level.

"fix me!" I yelled at him, but all he did was grab my wrists and pull my hands off of him. "its irreversible. just calm down there are perks to having a new form you know." he said and folded his arms at me. he walked about 20 feel away and folded his arms.

"ok, there are a few elements you could have absorbed so I will see witch one you are. I'm standing far away because I don't want you to hit me." he said and I stood up and faced him and nodded showing I was ready.

"one of them would be electricity which is the most likely kind. do you feel a tingle in your hands or feet?" he asked. I held out my hands and felt nothing. I looked back up at him and shook my head.

"ok...uhm... how about glass. are your fingers hard like a stone?" I felt my hands, they were soft and squishy still. I shook my head.

"ok... well if they aren't hard then you can't be a metal either... so that just leaves Argon... but that's so rare to get. do you feel light and airy?" he asked with denial laced in his words.

now that you mention it I do kinda feel light... I jumped in the air and ended up jumping a good 30 feet in the air and softly flouted down to the ground like a feather. "ah, so I see your Argon. its a rare gas found in lightbulbs." I felt a smile spread across my face as I jumped into the air once again.

I felt the air flow through my hair as I floated to the ground. the air had a faint lavender sent to it from all of the flowers around us. the tall man walked over to me and I watched as his eyes softened to a light grey color as he looked at me. I walked past him and looked around the new world.

"what is this place?" I asked hearing him walk closer to me. "we call it DreamNest." I smiled as I looked at the vast world just waiting to be explored. "we should start a fire, night is coming soon." he said and walked over too a dead bush and grabbed a few twigs. I agreed and grabbed a few sticks off the ground.

we laid them on the ground in pile and began to start the fire. a few minutes later all of the plants around us stopped giving off light.

the tall man found a giant flower and took four of it's petals and handed me two. "its to sleep on." he said and I thanked him and laid it across from the tall man, but close to the fire for the warmth. he sat by the fire and watched the flames dance in the soft cold wind.

"what's your name?" I asked walking around the fire and sat next to him. "here in DreamNest I'm known as The Messenger, but you can call me Ace." he said and looked at me. I wished I could have seen his expression at that moment.

"I'm Ali." I said and smiled at him making the lights in mis eyes soften. we sat there for a little longer and I ended up falling into a nice comfortable sleep that made me feel warm inside.
