Chapter 15

My parent was sitting on the couch. I gave them two cups of tea. They looked around the house. "Yu Ming is preparing the dinner now." I chuckled as my parent sneak peaking the figure at the kitchen at the same time. They laughed quietly, realizing their previous act.

"Sorry for letting you wait. Dinner is ready." He walked out with two dishes on his hands. My parent was staring at him, in a good way, I think. He took off his apron while walking towards us. He bowed. "Good evening, Prince Akira and Princess Sachiko."

"Good evening, Yu Ming." My parent greeted. He smiled nervously. My parent walked to the dining table, observing the dishes. "Look good." Yu Ming seemed to relax a bit after my mother's praise. "Please sit, I'll bring out the rice." He pulled out a chair, invite my mother to seat in. "Thank you." Mother said. Father sat beside her. "I'll help you," I said, he smiled at me, we walking side by side into the kitchen. I gave him a thumb up after my parent was out of sight, he smiled in pleased.

After all set, Yu Ming pulled a chair invite me to sit. I thanked him, he then sat beside me, facing Father. "This is my hometown home-cooked dishes, might not as good as my mother, but still hope you enjoy it." Yu Ming introduced in a perturbed tone. I hold his hand on his lap, patting to loosen his nerve.

"Itadakimasu." We said in unison. Yu Ming's eyes keep glancing over my parent to watch their reaction. "It's tasty." Mother complimented, she noticed Yu Ming's glance. Yu Ming smiled happily and thanked Mother.

"Do you like Japan?" Father asked initiated conversation. "Yes, especially the food. I love sushi. The seafood is very fresh and delicious." He thumbed up in a funny way, made us laugh.

"Your Japanese is good." Father praised. "Thank you. I learned from Tzuyu." He laughed, lighten up the mood. "Back in the days in Taiwan, Tzuyu practiced her speaking skill by talking to me in Japanese, although I don't understand a word." We laughed at his word. "She also taught me some so we can have conversations." He smiled like he was recalling the memory of them together. She probably really thinking about her brother.

"Where's Tzuyu?" Father asked Yu Ming. I was died laughing inside. "Umm...She went out with her housemates." Yu Ming answered hesitantly. "Since your sister will be staying in Japan for a long time, do you planning to stay here as well?" Father postulated. "I'm helping my father manage the family business. I came here taking a vacation." This is going down for real - the worst scenario. "How long will you stay in Japan?" Father inquired. Yu Ming turned to look at me, say: "Next month." His eyes were full of sorrow, as if reluctant to leave. "Then how about your relationship with my daughter?" Father furrowed his brow slightly.
"We will keep in touch," I said confidently. "I will come to Japan once a month." He said with a bitter smile.

Father remains silent for a moment, eating rice. He put down the bowl and chopstick then gave Yu Ming a death stare. "If I found out you're cheating on Mina, you'll know the taste of death." Whoa~that's dark. I never saw this side of Father. I pray for Tzuyu's brother, hope he doesn't have a girlfriend now. Yu Ming scared by the aura for a second but quickly returned normal. "I'll never cheat on her. She is my only love and I will always be my only." He announced loudly. Father seemed to satisfy with the answer. "Mark your words," Father remarked.

After dinner, Father and Mother sat on the couch watching the news. I helped Yu Ming washing the dishes. "Do your brother has a girlfriend?" I whispered. "Last time I checked - No. He interested in work than girls." Tzuyu whispered. "I hope Father won't found out the real one." I worry more about the safety of Tzuyu's brother, he's innocent. "I think you better inform him, I don't want to implicate him in these although I already did." Yu Ming looked at me. "Well, you really owe me a big one. How would you reciprocate?" He smirked wickedly. "What would you like me to do?" I asked back. He leaned in, whispered in my ear: "I want you to break up with Momo and be my girlfriend."
