"Momo."

She was shocked to see me but her emotion turned to angry real quick. "What are you doing here?" She questioned my existence then stormed out the room before I answered. I followed her to explain, but she walked faster after noticed me following her behind. "Momo!" I called out to stop her. Contrarily, her pace sped up, she basically was running away from me.

"Momo! Please stop!" she was unstoppable. She was heading to backyard. I got panicked because there's a bamboo forest behind her house. I needed to catch her before she entered into the maze only she know how to get out because I once got lost in there when we played hide and seek during our childhood.

Flashback
I waited and waited but nobody came and find me. I noticed the forest was getting darker and I was scared of the thought of staying in the dark alone. I immediately walked back but the dirt road was never-ending; I was frightened by the darkness surrounded me and started running. Then, I stumbled over something and fell down real hard. I sat up and broke down in tears, calling out my parent.

"Mina!" It's Momo's voice. I looked up and a flashlight shined in my eyes. I immediately raised up my arm to block the strong light. She run towards me with all speed. She squatted down and patted my head. "Idiot." I cried even louder. She pulled me in a hug to calm me down. "Don't worry. I'm here. I'm here," she repeated until I stopped crying. She checked my wound on the knee. "Get on my back. Let's go home!"

I think that might be the moment I fell in love but I was still too young to understand.

I sprinted and lunged forward, tackled her down. She got even more mad by my action. "Let go of me! You crazy woman!" She wiggled to lose grip of me but failed. "Listen to me! Calm down! I'll let go of you if you promise me you won't run away again." After failing to escape for the third time, she finally gave up and nodded. I got off her body instantly and we both stood up. If looks could kill, I think I'll have died on the spot. "What do you want from me?" She dusted off the dirt on her clothing. "I want to apologize for what I did. I'm sorry for ruining our relationship. I'm sorry for hurt your feelings. I'm sorry for everything. I came here to clarify my fault I have done and I'll assume the consequences." She stood there listening to my story.

"Do you think we could still be friends after all these?" She questioned, her lips twitched with a bitter smile. My voice weakened, "I don't know, I want to give it a try. That's why I'm here." We stood there quietly in awkward. "I need time, Mina." She was staring at the ground. I noticed a single teardrop falling down and dampened the dirt. I moved forward to at least do something, but she moved backwards in response. "I need time," she repeated, another tear dropped. "I–" Trying to say something to comfort her, but no words came out. My heart clutched seeing her cry but I couldn't do anything except staying away.

She walked away back to her house, I followed her in a distance. She's walking back to her room. I was hesitating to go in her room as destination getting nearer because right now all she needed was space and time.

However, she decided for me as she closed the door in front of me, leaving me outside. I leaned against the door and I could heard her sobbing. I felt defeated. My body slipped downward, sitting on the floor, titled my head back against the door, tears streaming down my face uncontrollably. They said when you looked up, your tears won't running down, why it didn't work.

"Mina?" Momo's mom called me. "Why are you sitting on the floor outside of Momo's room?" She didn't notice I was crying until she got closer. "What happened? Why are you crying?" She asked in concern. "I'm fine. Don't worry, Mrs. Hirai." I quickly wiped my tears and faked a smile. She immediately knocked on Momo's door to ask her. Momo came out and she had puffy eyes likewise. "Did you two argued? I have never seen you guys argued before, not even when you guys shared a toy. What really happened?" We both stole a glance of each other at the same time. "It's complicated." Momo answered. "We could solve it ourselves. Don't worry, mama." She put on a smile to assure her mom. I nodded along with Momo. She just let out a deep sigh and walked away. "Children have grown up~People changed~," she exclaimed.
