Chapter 9

I wondered how they were doing. I was on the way to common area to check on them now.
When I entered the room, they were chatting and eating snacks. They looked energetic, Tzuyu still looked pretty as always. How could someone be that pretty?!

"Good morning, Team B. How's the night?" I half-laughed.

"There were three patients." Yuri answered. I picked up the files on the table.
"Patient one had internal bleeding, rapid medical attention was given, called the doctor of the patient to perform a surgery. The operation succeeds." Yuri presented.

"Patient two had stroke caused by a blood clot, discovered within the first hour, the patient received the clot-busting drug, tissue plasminogen activator, to dissolve the clot and help restore blood flow to the damaged area of the brain." Tzuyu presented.

"Patient three awake from coma, it's really amazing to witness the miracle. The patient transferred to the normal room." Sakura excitedly informed.

"Seemed like the patients go easy on your first shift. Only two emergencies and a good news. Have a good night sleep, isn't it?" Sakura and Yuri nodded happily while Tzuyu nodded her head slightly.
"You all can go home now. Team C will be take over." They bowed and left.

I checked the chart and Team C arrived soon after. I reported to them and went upstairs rounding the hospital wards.

Beep! Beep! Beep!
My pager went off. I checked the code, it's from president but priority 3. I will called him after finished my checking list.

I went to the nearby nursing station and borrowed the phone.
"Hello, Professor Hirai. What's the matter?"
"Dr. Mina, are you free now?"
"Yes. All done. At least for now."
"Please come to my office. I haven't been able to meet you these days. Beside someone is here looking for you."
"Ok. Be right there."
Someone? Why acting mysterious all of the sudden.

I was now standing in front of the door of the president office. Knock knock.
"Come in."
As soon as I pushed open the door.

Boo!

I whimpering, shutting my eyes and raising my hands up high to defend myself.

"Hahahaha!" The familiar sound.
"Momoring..." I whined at the mischievous kid-like person who laughing her ass off.
I looked at Professor Hirai who sat on his chair couldn't help laughing lightly at my reaction.
Momo pulled me inside approaching Professor Hirai.

"Look at you. You are getting prettier." He praised.
"Minari is always beautiful." Momo chimed in.
"Thank you. Professor Hirai." I shyly replied and looked at Momo who smiling broadly at me.
"Not need to call me professor, we are now in private meeting." He looked at Momo smiling mischievously. Like father like daughter.

"We haven't had meal together like a family in a long time after your father transferred you to assist his research." He grumbled at my father decision since Professor Hirai always treated me like his daughter. My parent traveling between Osaka and Tokyo a lot so the Hirai family invited me to their house when my parents were not around.

"Dad had book a restaurant. We are having lunch now." Momo grabbed my arm.
"Momo had been nagging me all night about invite you having lunch together." He revealed.
"Why don't just ask me?" I pinched her nose.
"I had tried it before but always shoot down by your busy schedule so I asked dad to do a favor." She said shamefaced.
"Even it's Professor Hirai, I will decline too if the patients need me. But I am free now." I told, my hand moved my way to her cheek feeling the softness. I wish I could kiss her right now. Her eyes indicated the same.
