Everyone hated Mondays. It was a rule of living. Mondays were awful and that was a fact. However, Tay found herself looking forward to Mondays. Ever since her and Hayley got together she woke up excited to get to school and see her girlfriend.
She woke up and texted Hayley good morning before going to start her morning routine. She took a boiling hot shower and then brushed her teeth before going to get dressed. She picked a pair of black ripped skinny jeans and a blue and black plaid button up. She grabbed her phone and saw that Hayley had texted her 'good morning beautiful.'
Tay smiled and went downstairs to grab a quick breakfast before making her way to school.
As Tay walked through the familiar hallways she headed towards Hayley's room to spend some time with her before school started. She rounded the corner but instead of seeing Hayley standing there monitoring the halls by herself like usual, two police officers stood with her. Tay stopped in her tracks.
Fuck. They knew.
She caught Hayley's eye and she could tell. Hayley looked like someone had just ripped her heart out of her chest. It was over. It was all over.
Tay watched in horror as the officers put her hands behind her back and put handcuffs on her. As they walked by, Hayley looked into Tays eyes. They seemed to scream "I'm sorry." But it was all Tays fault. It had to be. Someone must have recognized her at the Halloween party.
As they exited the building Tay found herself stuck in place. She couldn't move. She couldn't breathe. Nothing seemed real. She wanted to cry. She wanted to scream but nothing would come out.
She was knocked out her trance by Jenna. "Tay! What happened? I just saw. Are you okay? Did they find out?"
Jenna wrapped her arms around her friend. "I don't know. Jen...I don't know."
The whole day Jenna stayed by Tays side. Comforting her when she needed it, making up excuses to everyone that asked what was wrong. If Jenna wouldn't have been there Tay knew she would have lost it.
In English class she almost did. The substitute had told everyone that Hayley had been arrested for unknown reasons and students immediately started talking. Jack had said that she was arrested for fucking students and Tay raised her hand to smack him but Jenna caught it and told her no. Tay got up and left class after that.
Jenna didn't see her again until lunch was almost finished. She stood and hugged her and Tay hugged back and didn't let go. "It's over Jen." Tay said.
Jen kissed the top of her head and squeezed her tighter. "You don't know that. You don't know what it was for. No one does. It's going to be fine."
The guys were worried by their behavior but they didn't ask to many questions after seeing the look on Tays face. They decided they would text Jenna later and ask what was wrong.
That night Jenna convinced her mom to let her stay at Tays house. She tried to cheer her up by ordering Chinese and playing her favorite movies but Tay barely ate and she seemed to stare straight past the television.
When it was time for them to sleep Tay curled up in the corner of her bed and finally, she cried. Jenna wrapped her in her arms and whispered that everything would be fine, but it did nothing to calm Tay down. It seemed like forever before she finally cried herself to sleep.
