I woke up in Derek's bedroom, feeling the warm blankets over me. For a second, I could thought I saw Alyssa sitting on the edge of the bed, watching me, protecting me. That would never happen. But as I began to rub my eyes, I saw it was only Derek.
"You've got to stop passing out." He said, "Especially in the water. I had to perform CPR on you!"

I waved to him and I went home. This time when I saw my mother, I gave her a hug. I felt tears burn my eyes, and I let them go as I said, "I love you so much, mom..."
Her face looked shocked as she slowly replied, "I love you too Alexandra!" She had tears streaming down her cheeks and we sat down and talked together. This was the first time I ever really spent time with her.
Although I finally opened up to my mom, I was still scared.
