As I went to sleep that night, I couldn't stop thinking about what Alyssa would do to me.
Would it be the usual nightmares?
Or something even worse?
Hesitantly, I shut my eyes and fell asleep.
In this nightmare, I saw Alyssa in her healthy form sitting in what looked like a roller coaster train cart. She was worried and screaming, her hands clutching the sides of the cart.
Then all of a sudden, her train cart fell to the ground, but I was holding Alyssa's hand tight. My knuckles turned as white as a ghost. Maybe even whiter.
I couldn't bear to see this memory once again. But this time I heard Alyssa yell something at me. She yelled, "SAVE ME!!! You are the one, Alex!! You are the savio-"
I woke up, my hands clutching my bedding sheets, which caused me to remember Alyssa. I sobbed as hard as I could, and I yelled, "WHY?! Why couldn't I have saved you! I'm sorry Alyssa! I'm sor-"
My mother ran in the room, in her night gown. She looked exhausted.
"What happened, Alex?" She said groggily.
"I..I...Alyssa!" I said in a panicked voice.
"Sweetie I don't understand what you-" She fell to the ground.
A figure was standing behind her with a bloody knife in her hand. It's sinister smile spread wider than humanly possible. "I thought you were the savior Alex...But I was wrong. You couldn't save me, and you couldn't save your dear mother. Oh, poor you."
It was Alyssa.
Then suddenly, her body was changing as she walked towards me. It went from deformed to healthy, deformed to healthy. Her healthy form was trying to tell me something. I could only make out, "Alex, I know I am dead. It is not your fault. You have to save everyone. You are the savior Alex. You are the savior! You are the savior!!"
The words rang through my ears. "You are the savior! You are the savior!!" It was like a chant.
I woke up to a scream, which made me panic. My body tensed, but then I noticed it was my own scream. I quickly stopped screaming, for I knew my mother would panic.
I laid back down in bed, and I suddenly felt relaxed and safe. And for the first time ever, I fell back asleep to a wonderful dream...
