Hey guys! Sorry for all the cliff hangers recently! ;) And if you don't know, when there is no specific POV, (for example, ~Andrea's POV~), then it is automatically Alexandra's POV. And if you don't know what POV stands for (Although you should know), it stands for Point of View. Also, a little note, this chapter has a lot of POV switches, so things are going to be a little out of order. Enjoy!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The sun was already gone, and I was laying down next to Derek on the small space we had to sleep in. He should have been asleep. Instead, he was wide awake and staring at the ceiling. Derek turned his head to look at me. He smiled. He was obviously worrying about his mom, I could see it in his eyes.
He gave me a hug, surprising me. I sighed. He was distressed. I pulled away.
Derek didn't need a friendly hug right now. What he needed was his mom. He needed proof that his mom was dead. Even I didn't believe my own father. I didn't believe that Derek's sweet mother was dead. It just wasn't real.
I ran my hands through my hair and he suddenly pulled me closer for a hug. Then I felt something wet on my shoulder and I felt Derek's back heaving. He was crying. For the first time ever, I had seen him cry. His sobs were muffled by my shirt.
He wiped away his tears and I gave him a sad smile.
Eventually I fell asleep. But what I didn't know, was that he wasn't actually sleeping.
~Alyssa's POV~
"Ahhh...AHHH...AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!" I yelled as the rubbing alcohol stung my wound. Jeremy smiled at me.
"What's so funny?" I asked. He shrugged and placed a bandaid on the cut. It still felt like the knife was touching my skin, its cold metal slicing my arm. I shivered at the thought.
Jeremy must have seen me and asked worriedly, "Are you cold?" I shook my head and smiled. He was so protective of me, well, probably because he was my big brother. Duh, I thought to myself.
"You know Alyssa, he's gonna be back soon. You should start putting on the outfit, or else he might bring out the control device." I gasped when he said control device. That horrid thing could kill an entire army. It made me kill my own parents...
My thoughts trailed over to Derek's mom. I sat there, on the cold cement stairs, and thought for a few minutes about her. I never wanted to hurt her. I had to, or else...well, I didn't really know what would happen to me.
"I didn't want to hurt Derek's mom...but she didn't cooperate with me." I said, my voice trembling.
Jeremy furrowed his brows. "I know, but we have to--"
"I don't get it! Why do we have to?!" I yelled in frustration.
He gave me the death stare. I sighed. "Look, Alyssa. I know you want to know, but then he would hurt you. He already murdered mom, dad, and then he murdered you. Well, at least that's what he told your friend..." He trailed off.
I was agitated. "My 'friend', has a name. It's Alex. Why do we have to kill her? More importantly, who is this guy who makes us do these things? Why do we--"
"Enough Alyssa!!" His voice boomed. I sighed slightly and stood up.
"I am going to change." I mumbled.
