~Derek's POV~
I really like Alex, honestly. But I am really worried for her. She always passes out and sees things that sometimes even I don't see. I know that Alex knew Alyssa way better than I do, but I do know one thing about Alyssa: Her house is haunted. Her house could lead us to some answers. I want to call Alex today about going there, but I just don't know. We haven't talked since last week, which is a long time for us. We're inseparable.
I really care for Alex. If anything happened to her, I would be so sad. I love her like family.
I decided to call her today.
Me: Hey Alex.
Alex: Oh, hey Derek.
Me: How are the nightmares coming? Are they too bad?
Alex: Actually, I had a dream for the first time EVER...
Me: Really? Wow, that's great Alex!
Alex: I'll come over in a few, okay?
Me: Okay...
There was a dead silence, although we hadn't hung up yet.
Alex: See ya soon, Mr. Derek Edwards...
She hung up.
I felt pretty guilty to say this, but I was actually jealous. I get nightmares all the time. I used to have dreams, but that was before I met Alex. I wish I could have dreams.
But at the same time, I felt really happy for her. Not like the happy when you get something yourself, the happy when you are relieved.
That's the word for it. I was relieved for Alexandra Peterson.
~End of Derek's POV~
I kept on having the same nightmare/dream for this week. I was just about to walk out of the house when my mother called after me. "Alex!"
"Yes mom?" I said.
"Take this with you." She said, "I love you sweetheart!" She called as I walked away,
"Love you too mom!" I said. She handed me her necklace.
This isn't just any necklace. It was the one that my great grandmother passed down from generation to generation.
I put it on, feeling safe as soon as the golden heart touched my chest.

"Hey Alex!" Derek said happily.
Seeing him this happy made me giggle.
"Hi." I said with a smile.
He gave me a quick hug, then let go.
Suddenly his happy expression faded into a more serious one.
"We need to talk about something." He said while walking into his bedroom.
"Okay.." I said, following him. This wasn't going to be good.

"So, I think we should go to their house." He said.
I was shocked. "Are you crazy? I mean, it's haunted. And you and I know that better than anyone!"
"Which is why it could lead only us to answers!" He said.
"Maybe, but I don't know. It would take some BIG risks. And I mean big." I said, worried.
He touched my face with his warm hand, but it didn't calm me enough. "We are gonna be fine, Alex. Just you wait."
I gave him a faint smile to mask my worried expression, but I don't if he bought it.
"O-Okay." I stumbled. "Let's do it."
