Chapter 10

I couldn't see anything as I was being dragged across the wooden floor. I wanted to wake up, like this was some terrible dream. But it wasn't.

"Alyssa, I-I am sorry....okay?!" I said shakily.

I could feel her distorted, evil smile as she whispered, "It's too late now, Alex. You were not the savior after all."

"What do you mean, savior?" I said, totally confused. What did that mean?! I thought I knew what it meant when I was "saving" my mom, but now...

I wanted answers. I wanted to understand why Alyssa wanted revenge. It didn't make any sense.

I fought her grip, but it was like her hand was glued to the collar of my shirt. I fought harder as I saw where she was taking me. It didn't work.

I was thrown into a cold, dark room that had rusty metal bars over the windows. It looked like an interrogation room.

Maybe that's what she was going to do, I thought. Interrogate me.

Then I started hearing noises. People crying, screaming, and demented laughing. It was too much noise to handle. It started quiet and slowly, but then the noises became louder all at once.

I was becoming insane. The once quiet whispers were now screeches. I shot my hands up to my ears, but they were handcuffed. I screamed, "DEREK!!!!" But it wouldn't help.

It was all useless. Alyssa was holding a bloody axe, walking towards me with a look of condemnation.

Why is she disapproved of me?

What did I do wrong--besides killing her?

"What do you want from me?" I asked fearfully.

"The savior..." Alyssa whispered.

"What?!" I yelled,

"The savior..." She said again, like a chant. Soon, all the voices went from crying to saying "the savior".

"The savior, the savior THE SAVIOR, THE--"

"NO!!!" I shrieked as I stood up.

The voices stopped. Alyssa disappeared.

I was sick and tired of being pushed around and being scared.

"Show your face ALYSSA!!!" I yelled in anger. My handcuffs were gone.

All that she had done to ruin me had failed. But she still ruined my once-perfect life.

I wanted revenge.

I turned around and around ferociously, but Alyssa was no where in sight.

I had become the fearless girl my mother had always wanted me to be. I shook the thought away. Thinking of my mother made me want to cry. It was all my fault...

I sighed dramatically and slowly tiptoed towards the hallway. Once I got to the room with the dismembered arm, I noticed the arm was not there anymore.

The smell of dead, decaying bodies reeked through the cabin. I held my nose, and walked out of the gross room.

Once I got to the hallway, a man was tied in a chair. With one arm.

I stared at him for a while until his eyes shot open and looked at mine.

His eyes became teary and he cried.
