addy's pov
i woke up with more excitement than yesterday. 5 more days til i can hug them especially chase. i was up by 8 am. i got ready and went for a walk. i walked to a coffee shop that was a 10 min walk to from my house. i went there twice a week. i made sure i did. it held a special place in my heart.
when i was younger, my grandma would take me to the coffee shop once a week but she would go twice a week. one day with me and one without. when i was 14 she passed away. she had breast cancer but that didn't stop her from living her best life. she was my dad's mom. her name was iris rose. so beautiful just like her.
she sent me letters talking about love. she was so wise it blew our minds. she told me that my perfect boy would want to show me off, tell me how much he loves me, respects me parents, and respects me.
when i walked into the coffee shop i got greeted from the workers by my name. i haven't missed a day to come here. i will get a drink and sit down and chat with the workers. it wasn't weird because the manager basically watched me grow up and the workers saw me so often.
i walked to the register and ordered a vanilla bean frappe. it didn't contain coffee. i had so much energy already from the excitement. i sat down at the table closet to the workers. "so addy what's new? spill it all" camille, a worker that i had gotten kinda close to. she gave me a bright smile. "well i mean i am going to los angeles in 5 days with my best friends from social media"
"oh who will be there?" she asked while making drinks. she knows of basically everyone in my life. "chase-" as soon as those words escaped my mouth she interrupted me. "wait chase? the one that lives in stockton? and has cute dogs?" she made sure. i nodded "yep that's the one" "don't you have feelings for him?" she asked me. "yeah really strong ones too. i think maybe its a stupid crush. after all im talking to him through a screen. what if he is completely different from when i saw him last?" i get deep in overthinking. "well you'll find out soon babe" she reassured me.
i soon left after our conversation. as i stepped out, all i can think of was chase and my stupid little crush on him. then like it was on queue i got an incoming facetime from pay. i accepted it. theres never a time when i don't want to talk to him.
"heyyy" i say to him with my earbuds in. "addy 5 more days!" he says like he's in shock. "crazy right?" he nods. "can i ask you something?" he says with a serious face. it scared me a little as to what he was gonna ask. i nodded giving him permission. "are you gonna tell chase?" he asks me. "i don't know pay i-" being cut off, payton said "come on. it'll only benefit you. you gotta do this." he hypes me up. "and if it ruins our friendship?" i say as he rolls his eyes. "life is short ads. what if he's the one?" payton's words make me realise.
