Chapter 11

"Kendall?" The knocking at the door wakes me up suddenly.

"Uhh who is it." I wipe the drool from my face I must've fallen asleep after changing.

"It's Adriana and Zoe."

"Come in." I say. They walk in and sigh with relief. "Thank goodness you're okay."

"Why wouldn't I be okay?" I ask sitting up.

"Because you looked sick as hell and then came up here and didn't come back down for like 2 hours." Says Zoe.

"Ohh." I say. That makes sense.

"Are you sure you're okay? you really did look sick downstairs." Says Adriana sitting next to me.

"Yeah I'm fine." I lie.

They both give me a look. They know when I'm lying.

"Ugh fine. No I'm not okay." I say.

"What happened?" Zoe crosses her arms and looks at me.

"You know how Colby and I kissed?"

They nod their heads.

"Well. Apparently he has a girlfriend." I say, sending goosebumps up and down my arms.

"A girlfriend?" They both ask shocked in unison.

"Yeah." I say. "Which makes him a cheater. He cheated on his girlfriend with me. His poor girlfriend."

"I mean, you know how she would be feeling if she found out." Says Adriana putting a shoulder around me. "I'm sorry Kendall, it's not your fault, you didn't know."

"I know but I still did it, and so did he." I sigh.

"Why do you think he did it?" Asks Zoe. I shrug my shoulders.

"I have no idea."

*Colby POV*

"What's been going on?" Jake asks as he pulls a lawn chair up next to me in the sand.

"Eh not much." I lie. "Enjoying this view." I look out at the ocean, the water lapping up onto the shore.

"Yeah?" Jake rests his chin in his hand.

"Yeah." I slowly turn my head towards him and see him grinning. "What."

"Nothin." He keeps grinning.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" I ask.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" He mocks.

I scoff and shake my head.

"Why did you ask Kendall if she had a boyfriend yesterday?" He asks suddenly.

"Why not? Just getting to know her." I reply.

"Mmhmm." He says.

"It's true." I look at him again.

"What do you think Riley would say?"

"About what?" I narrow my eyes at him.

"That you're trying to come onto another girl. Wouldn't Riley, your girlfriend, be upset if she found out?" Jake winks at me.

"I just asked Kendall a simple question." I say. "It's not like we kissed or anything."

"It doesn't matter." Jake Says.

He grabs the chair he was sitting in and walks away. I look back at the water and sigh.

*Kendall POV*

"I don't want to go down there and see Colby." I say. "I'll just be awkward and stuff. He's not supposed to know that I know."

"Just act as normal as you can, you can't stay in this room for the rest of the trip." Says Zoe.

"Maybe I can." I grab the package of Oreos off the bed-stand. "I'll live off these."

"Ew." Says Adriana. "Imagine eating Oreos everyday for like 2 weeks."

"You're right that's terrible." I say sighing as I set the package down on the bed in disappointment. "Whatever lets do this."

We all get up and go downstairs. No one is in the house.

"Where is everyone?" Asks Zoe.

We look around and my eye catches all the boys outside playing in the water.

We walk outside and I smile as I watch Corey pick up Jake, slinging him over his shoulder and throwing him back down in the water.

I see Sam look over and notice us standing in the sand.

"You guys coming?" He yells and motions us over to the water.

"It may take your mind off things." Adriana whispers in my ear.

"We're all friends here." Zoe whispers in my other ear.

I smile and put my arms around them as we walk towards the water.

We get in and the all the boys scream bloody murder.

"THE GIRLS HAVE COOTIES." Jake yells making me laugh.

"What are you in 3rd grade?" I say in between hysterical laughs.

"Get away from the girls!!" Says Colby.

The girls and I start swimming out to catch the boys with our "cooties" and it's a full on tag war.

Totally taking my mind off everything that's happened and enjoying summer at its finest.
