"What did you want to tell me?" Jake flops on my couch.

The party was last night, and I was about to tell Colby that we had made our relationship official, which was going to be hard.

"Umm." I run my fingers through my hair. I look from my lap to my bestfriend, waiting for what I'm going to say.

"Are you okay?" He asks. "You're turning pale."

I know this probably isn't even a big deal. Jake was always there to listen to me when I needed him, I don't think he would be mad. Would he?

There's only one way to find out.

"Colby and I are dating." I blurt out and Jakes eyes widen.

"Dating?" He sits back and looks at me. "What happened to being mad at him and how he tricked you and all that?"

I remain quiet. "Do you think this is a bad idea?"

He sighs. "It's not my decision."

"But I want to know what you're thinking. Am I making the right decision?"

He squints his eyes at me and the smiles.

"I know you like him."

I nod my head slightly.

"And he likes you."

He pauses.

"You don't need approval, to be with someone you like."

"I know Jake-"

"You don't need my approval, I'm here for you and your decisions."

I sigh and look at my lap.

"Do you not want to be with him?" He asks.

"No I do." I look up at Jake whose eyes dropped to his lap. "There's just so much that's happened between him and I, I mean you know."

"I know." He sighs. "I don't want you to feel like this is a bad decision,"

"I don't feel like it's a bad decision."

"Then why are you so worried about it?"

"Because I.." I trail off to figure out my words.

"Kendall."

My eyes lock with Jakes. "Because I feel like in some way, I'm betraying you."

His eyebrows furrow together. "What do you mean? How would you be betraying me?"

"That's the thing! I don't know." I frown.

"Kendall, if this is about the one time we kissed.."

"It's not... I don't think."

"We tried it and personally I didn't feel anything." He says. "But if you did..."

"No," I say. "You're my bestfriend, that's probably why I feel like I would be betraying you." I explain.

He nods his head. "I understand."

"So you're okay with this?" I reassure.

"If you are." He smiles.

I lean in and give him a big hug. "Thanks Jake."

"Anything for you." He whispers.

We pull apart and he smiles.

"Well, I have to go." He says, standing up.

"Where ya off to?" I smile,
