Chapter 48

"I had fun tonight." I spin around facing Colby in front of my apartment door.

"I did too," He smiles. I feel his fingers gently tug at my own, but his eyes never left mine. I grip my stuffed koala tight.

"Are you sure you don't want to come in?" I ask him.

"I wish I could, I gotta get back with Sam since we leave early in the morning." He says and looks down at his feet.

"Oh yeah, I forget you guys are famous and all." I smile. He smiles while still looking at the ground.

I put my finger under his chin and watch his blue eyes sparkle.

"Have fun, okay?" I smile.

"I will." He says. "I'll miss you."

"I'll miss you too."

He cups my face gently and leans down towards me.

Our lips meet and the butterflies in my stomach lift off, causing my spine to twitch.

We pull apart from our kiss and he embraces me in a tight hug.

"Alright, no go on, catch some ghosts." I shoo him away.

"We don't catch them, they catch us." He winks before heading towards the elevator.

I shake my head and walk into my apartment. I lean against the door and let my mind wander.

I'm going to miss that kid like crazy.

*beep* *beep* *beep*

I groan and roll over onto my stomach. My eyes slowly open and turn the alarm off on my phone.

"I hate that noise." I groan to myself.

I sit up in bed and stretch, the los angeles sun floods through the curtains and onto my carpet.

I slide out of my silk sheets and into the bathroom.

"Ew." I grimace as I look at myself in the mirror. My hair is matted on one side and apparently I fell asleep with my makeup on so my mascara was smudged under my eyes.

Just as I sit on the toilet I hear my phone ringing in the other room.

"You gotta be kidding." I laugh and roll my eyes. I finish my pee and let my phone ring, I'll call whoever it is back if it's important enough.

After using the bathroom I flop onto my bed and see the missed call is from Jake.

I dial him back and wait for him to answer.

"Hello?" I smile when I hear his voice on the line.

"Hey saw you called, what's up?" I twirl my hair with my fingers.

"I know we talked about going on a double date but since Colby is out of town filming with Sam, did you still want to come to breakfast with Tara and I?" He says.

Oh yeah I totally forgot we said we were going to do that.

"Sure! So Tara is her name?" I giggle.

"I never told you her name?" He asks.

"Nope." I roll my eyes.

"Oh." He laughs. "Well yes her name is Tara, and did you want to meet us at my apartment when you're ready?"

"Sounds perfect, I'll text you when I'm on my way."

"Okay! Bye!"

We hang up and I lay back on my bed, staring at my ceiling. Kind of weird I'm going to go hang out with Jake and his new 'girlfriend'. Usually it's just Jake and I.
