"Hey girl whatcha doin?" Jake sits next to me on the front porch. No one really came to the front porch, it was always the back. Which was perfect because I needed to clear my head.

"Just chilling." I reply smiling.

There's a small silence before I feel the hair sticking up on my neck. I look over at Jake and he's staring at me.

"What?" I laugh at his wide eyes and goofy smile.

"Is something up?" He makes his face go normal again.

"Nothing is up, why?" I lie.

"Because no one ever sits out here." He says, "Why aren't you inside watching a movie with everyone else?"

I sigh. Maybe I can talk to Jake about what's been going on.

"Can I trust you?" I ask.

"Of course." He says.

"Because you're friends with Colby and all I don't want you going off and telling him what I'm going to tell you."

He nods his head.

"I promise I won't tell."

"Okay." I sigh heavily. "Colby is really sweet, from what I know."

I look at Jake and he winces when I say, sweet.

"Anyway, I kind of like him, but I've had trouble with relationships and stuff in the past so I'm not ready to give in on him yet."

I tell Jake about my exboyfriend who cheated on me so he has some backstory.

"But he's been really into me, he even said it. But he had or has a girlfriend. Riley." I continue.

"Oh so you know about Riley?" Jake asks. "Did Colby tell you about her?"

"No. Sam did." I reply. He nods.

"Go on." He says.

"So I told Colby no to us being anything because he has a girlfriend, like I would never want to be the other end of that." I take a deep breath to continue. "The next day he tells me that he broke up with her."

Jakes eyebrows raise.

"Does that surprise you?" I cross my arms.

"A little." He says. "Colby didn't tell me that."

"He didn't?"

"No." Jake Says.

"Well okay so we ended up kissing and stuff but I felt like he wasn't telling me something. Then I got a comment on my instagram photo, from Riley, telling ME to tell COLBY to call HER." I emphasize the confusion.

"Whoa." Jake says putting his finger on his chin. "Well, I thought that if colby did break up with Riley that he would've told the boys and I."

I nod my head. "I thought so too."

"But if Riley is communicating with you rather than with Colby then she knows something is up with you and him." Jake explains.

"But how?" I throw my hands in the air. "I've never talked to her or met her or anything!"

"You think maybe she doesn't trust Colby?" Jake raises an eyebrow. "I mean, she most likely knows you guys are both here, maybe she doesn't trust Colby around you."

"But why? She doesn't know me."

"She knows Colby though." Jake Says. "Do you know Colby?"

I think about what Jake just said. I don't know Colby, like at all. He could be lying about everything, he could be someone totally different than I think.

"Kendall." Jake snaps me out of my thoughts. "I know you say you probably like Colby, but low key, he's a fucking mess."

"How so?" I roll my eyes. Great what did I get myself into.

"He came on this vacation looking for a fling, he told me. Even though he has a girlfriend, he's not loyal."

"Why didn't you or the boys tell him not to?" I ask.

"We're not his parents, he can do whatever he wants." He says. I make a disgusted face. "Don't get me wrong, we told him how we felt about it, but we can't make him do something he doesn't want to."

I nod my head. "I guess."

"Just be friends with Colby." He says.

"Uhh that's kind of impossible." I chuckle. "He flirts with me 24/7, just being friends is out the window."

Jake laughs. "You're right omg."

I shrug my shoulders. "Thanks for listening to me Jake."

"Of course, I gotchu." He gives me a big squishy hug, making me smile wide.

Before getting up and leaving he ruffles the hair on my head messing it all up.

"Hey!" I laugh, trying to fix my hair.

Jake laughs devishly before walking back into the house, leaving me with just my thoughts, scrambling in my head.
