"Honestly? You want my honest opinion?" I spin around from looking at myself in the mirror, to Jake, sitting in my grey lovesack.

It's been 2 weeks since I've been home from the beach house. This is the first time Jake and I have hung out since then.

I don't know Jake all that well but when I opened my door and saw him standing there I really realized how much I missed him.

"Yes I really want your honest opinion." I pop a leg and put my hand on my hip.

"The shirt doesn't match the shoes, and I think you should leave your hair down."

I spin back around to face the mirror and sigh.

"Yeah you're right." I begin taking off my shoes.

"Uugghh Kendall why couldn't have you been done getting ready before I got here?" Jake groaned into the lovesack. Surprised I could make out what he said through the muffle.

"Jake, you showed up an hour before we said we were going to hang out." I stand in front of him. He doesn't lift his head. "Jake." I repeat myself.

"I can't lift my head." Jake says, still face down.

"Why?" I bend down next to him.

"My earring is caught on the lovesack." He says.

I look to his ear where his earring his and start bursting out laughing.

"Don't laugh help me!" His muffled cry makes me laugh harder.

"I'm going to leave you there for now because I'm going to change my shirt." I stand up and begin taking my shirt off.

I look at him and he's struggling trying to get his earring untangled in the fuzz.

I throw on another shirt quickly.

"Here." I bend down next to him once again and untangle his earring.

His head pops up and there's drool dripping from his mouth.

"Ew! Did you drool on my lovesack!?" I cover my mouth so he can't see i'm trying not to laugh.

"Yeah I did because I couldn't breathe!" He scoffs. We stand there for a second looking at each other seriously. Then that grin creeps onto Jakes face, letting me know that I can laugh.

"Wait." Jake says, He raises his eyebrows.

"What is it?" I ask.

"Honest opinion, I like that shirt better." He smiles and so do I.

"Okay good." I let my hair down and put on a different pair of shoes.

"Are you ready?"

"I've been ready." He stands up. "And I'm starving."

He wraps his arm around my shoulder and we walk out to Jakes car.

"Wait okay you've never been in a car with me while I'm driving have you?" Jake looks over to me once we get in.

I shake my head.

"Okay well." He takes a deep breath and grips the steering wheel.

"Should I be worried about something?"

"Everyone who gets in the car with me, like all my close friends. They say that I'm a really bad driver."

"I'm sure you're fine." I say as I grab the handle above the car door.

"Yeahh.." His eyes slowly drift from my hand on the handle down to his steering wheel.

He starts the car and we head off.

"Wait so where are we going?" I ask.

"I want taco bell." Jake says quickly.

I look at him and smile.

"You like taco bell?" I ask.

"I love it." He says.

"I love it too." I reply. "But if we're being completely honest-"

"Be honest with me."

"I like Chipotle better." I wince when Jake snaps his head in my direction. However, when he did so, the car swerved aggressively.

"Jake!!" I grab his arm and he grabs the steering wheel. "Holy shit." I try to catch my breath.

"I told you I'm a bad driver."

I don't even say anything I just stare at Jake.

"Anyway," Jake shakes his head. "You like Chipotle better than Taco Bell?"

"I do!" I put my chin in one of my hands and look up at him. "I assume you like Taco Bell better?"

"Yes of course." Jake rolls his eyes. "I only know one other person who like Chipotle better than Taco bell."

"Who?"

"Colby." He says.

"Oh." I turn my head and look towards the road. I haven't talked to Colby once since the trip and he hasn't said anything to me either.

"Jake turn here!" I yell just as I snap out of my thoughts. Jake whips the steering wheel and does a full on Tokyo Drift on me.

"Oh shit!" Jake and I scream at the same time. He takes another sharp turn and the slams his breaks right into the drive thru line.

My body had become numb. I felt like I couldn't move my head or my arms or anything. I could tell that Jake was the same way by the complete silence in the car.

"Kendall." Jake musters.

"Yeah?" I reply shakily.

"You good?"

"Honestly?"

"Honestly."

I finally move my head to look at him and he does the same. A grin creeps onto my face out of nowhere and again, the same for Jake.

"Never been better."
