A Tribute to Monty Oum.
Leave a window open for him tonight...
A bird flew in through my window,
and made a home where it could find.
We talked and argued and laughed;
He brought comfort and joy to my mind.
A bird flew in through my window,
Telling stories which made my chest ache;
Where goodness and kindness prevailed,
Where one person, a difference could make.
A bird flew in through my window,
And stole my breath for hours.
With tales of maidens and relics;
Of simple souls wielding silver-eyed powers.
A bird flew in through my window,
And somehow made me believe-
If such love existed in fairy tales,
Maybe it could also exist ...for me?
A bird flew in through my window,
In his creations, he made me a part.
I saw my struggles through his character's eyes;
They were fiction, yet real in my heart.
A bird flew in through my window,
But sudden early leave he did take;
With tears I asked "Why?"
To which he replied,
"I have one last creation to make..."
