Getting out of the castle was almost as easy as getting in. Taylial instructed each of them to keep hold of her as she led them out of the dungeons. Her ability was being pushed to the limits by cloaking all three of them in the invisibility ward of hers. She said it was nothing, but Lucas was worried that it would tire her out sooner rather than later.

Reaching the gates that they had entered through, Lucas slipped out from under Ty's arm as he'd been supporting the human the entire time. Letting go of Taylial's hand, he reached forward and pushed the door opened. The heavy wood creaked, but the Vampire was much stronger and it gave way to him. Slipping outside, they looked up to the hill where the Nameia, Dimiyen, and Ember should have been.

There was nothing there, but the sounds of fighting still reached them. Lucas looked over to the girl and jerked his head towards the hill, urging her to go first. Taylial gave a single nod and sprinted off towards the sounds of battle. Lucas lifted Ty's frail body against his and began walking after her. It wasn't that the human was heavy or anything like that; he just didn't think the boy would be all too happy if Lucas were to carry him like a princess while he was still awake.

"It is true, right?"

Lucas looked over to his boyfriend, confused. He arched an eyebrow as he walked with him in tow, "What do you mean?"

"That you love me," Ty grinned at him.

Lucas frowned, his face slowly growing red. He returned his attention to the path he was taking. Those alluring green eyes were so enticing. Even so, he could tell that the boy was utterly spent. Whatever they'd done to him, it had taken a lot out of him. It made Lucas angry just to think that they'd hurt him so much.

"Yes, it's true," he muttered, "Now will you shut up and try to regain your strength?"

"But I like being taken care of by you. It's quite adorable you know."

"I'll drop you right here."

"Oh, come on... I was kidding," Ty laughed.

Lucas glowered at him, even in this kind of situation he had to joke around. Although, the Vampire was pretty sure that Ty was only partially joking right then. It's just like that day in the council room... when he said he was hoping that my shirt would disappear... so childish... Lucas blushed again at the thought. Why had he just thought about that particular situation? Grinding his teeth he walked faster, ignorant to Ty's inability to really keep up.

As they reached the top of the hill, the human was panting heavily. There was almost no strength left in him and he was just about falling onto Lucas. As they hit the peak, Lucas didn't have to look far for the others. Taking another step, he would have called out to have them start falling back, but Ty collapsed. Lucas' reaction time was just enough to catch the boy before he hit the ground.

"Ty!"

Kneeling down with the human cradled against him, the Vampire reached up with one hand and brushed back his hair. The human's eyes were closed, his breathing shallow. Pressing his fingers against Ty's face, he grit his teeth as the skin beneath his touch was burning. Lucas was about to turn around when a shout filled the air and a sickening sound echoed in his ears right behind him.

A heavy body fell against his back, sliding down him until it stopped halfway down his back. Breath caught in his throat, Lucas turned just enough to look over his shoulder to see what had happened. His eyes widened and he gently lay Ty down onto the ground to whirl around and lift the other into his arms.

"Ember!"

The boy's pale green eyes reflected his pain, but he grinned all the same as he looked up to Lucas, "Hey."

A spear protruded from his chest, nearly dead center. The Vampire shifted the younger one around so that he could grip the shaft of the weapon. Grinding his teeth together, he wrenched it free earning a sharp cry mixed with a cough from Ember. Blood spewed from his lips, flecking across Lucas' pale jaw line.

"Man... that's painful," the boy remarked, wincing as one eye closed and his hand reached up to grip the wound that poured blood.

"You're damn lucky you're a Vampire. Why did you do that!?"

"Told you I wanted to help you," the boy smiled, his adorable features replacing his intimidating one, "Does this suffice?"

"Shut it. We've got to get out of here before we're all killed, you lucky bastard. Dimiyen! Now would be a good time!"

The Fae looked over her shoulder as she was fending off a few of the guards from Izoldei and nodded her head. Crimson hair flicked about as she returned her rustic gaze to the men before her. Nameia cast her golden fire and rushed to join Lucas with Taylial. Dimiyen worked her way backwards, her spells firing off from the circle's that appeared in the air before her.

When she was close enough, she weaved her fingers in the air, creating a very complex spell that Lucas had only seen once before. Three enormous circles expanded out from her finger tips, glowing different colors. The ground shook beneath them as Dimiyen spread her hands, activating the magic. The earth literally split opening up between her and the guards from Izoldei.

From the crack in the ground an enormous wall of solid rock rose up. Effectively blocked off from the guards, Dimiyen let her hands fall and the magic ceased. Turning on her heel, she faced the group, a bit of sweat on her forehead from the exertion of casting.

"It won't hold for long, we should hurry."

"Ember's house is closest, we'll go there," Lucas ordered and hauled the boy to his feet, "Here, help him. I'll carry Ty."

Once they were all situated, the Vampire led them off the hilltop and back to the road where the butler had dropped them off. He had Nameia fish out his cell phone from his pocket and call the man. All the while, he fought to keep his composure and worry at a minimum over Ty. Stupid fool...
