"Lucas..." Nameia breathed as the Vampire walked through the door into the room where the others were waiting. He could almost feel the wave of relief rushing through the room.
"Nameia," he answered tipping his head towards her. Behind him, Ty had followed his arms up over his head as his usual grin was plastered on his face.
"Glad to see you're back," Ember offered, a brilliant smile on his adorable features.
Lucas nodded with a bit of a smile and took a seat on one of the soft cushiony chairs in the room. He leaned back and sighed as he sat there, glancing between each of them. All eyes were trained on him, making him feel a bit uneasy from the attention. Lucas cleared his throat softly as he turned his gaze downwards to the floor.
"So... what have I missed?"
"Not a lot," the demi-God huffed as she crossed her arms and leaned back against the couch, "Just Drezair being a pain in the ass, your father also being a pain in the ass, oh and the wash of demons released from the gate we had to open to retrieve mister dumbass."
"Hey, just so you know he was having difficulties alright?" Ty retorted.
"Oh yeah, difficulties. That's what we'll call them. Who's idiotic ego got you both in that situation in the first place?"
"Alright, that's enough," Lucas snapped, coming forward and glaring at both of them. The two fell silent, Nameia startled by the Vampire's angry tone and Ty silenced by guilt. Lucas shook his head as he sighed and ran his hands through his hair, I swear... both of them drive me nuts... he thought to himself.
"About that wash of demons, we took care of it already," Ember said softly, turning the conversation a different direction, "My parents, myself and Taylial handled it just fine. Well, that is until the Families came in and had to stick their noses into the situation."
"What do you mean?"
"The Families intervened and got in the way. A good handful of them were injured during the fighting. It was just fine with my parents and I until they jumped in. Things got crazy after that. However, I suppose the end result is good though. We did eradicate all of the demons that had come through the gate."
Lucas stared at Ember, completely confused. He shook his head slightly and released a pent up sigh. Scratching at his head, he tilted his head off to the side as he leaned forward, resting one hand on his leg, "Okay. I'm completely lost. Why was a demon gate opened?"
"We had to retrieve Drezair," Taylial answered softly. She was seated up on Ember's lap, leaning against him as he held her around her waist.
"Alright, how the hell did you have a gate opened?"
"L'liya opened it," Nameia answered.
"She... what?"
"The Vampire bitch opened the gate and then she ran away because we couldn't get her to open it otherwise. She values her own life over anything else and thought that Drezair might kill her should she still be there when he came back. So, she opened it and fled. We had to get Drezair back because Ty hadn't revived in almost two weeks. We figured something was off, and we were right."
"For the record, I still want to kill her," Ty tossed out as he stretched out across the chair he'd occupied.
Lucas rolled his eyes at his boyfriends announcement, "Later," he said and returned his attention to Nameia, "Alright, what happened after that?"
"Drezair closed the gate and we came to Ty. Your father got in the way there for a second, but we got away without harming him too much. That's about it."
"Where do things stand now? Kivar?"
"Not a word yet. Only the Families have been a problem, but they've always been like that."
The Vampire sighed heavily, intertwining his fingers together and leaning forward. Both hands bounced up and down as he thought. Things were a precarious to say the least. Looking up he glanced between them all. A frown spread on his lips and he turned his eyes back down to the floor.
"What is it, love?"
"Nothing... just, feels like things are about to get rough again," he sighed, "And so soon too."
"If it does, it does. We'll handle it like we've always done."
"You..."
"I know! I know, I promised. I'm keeping that promise. I'm just saying that we can handle this, alright?"
Lucas ground his teeth as he glared at Ty, looking into those deep green eyes that were tantalizing to stare into. He closed his and turned away with a bit of a nod in acknowledgement.
"I suggest we go after them before they come after us," Ember said.
"Yeah, I think I'll have to agree to that," the Vampire replied with a nod of his head. He leaned back against the chair and put his hand up against his jaw where he rested it.
"The catacombs?" Nameia asked.
"Yeah. I think that's our best bet. We should get ready to go soon. The longer we wait, the harder this is going to be. We need to do something about Kivar as soon as possible. His methods... it's too much to even comprehend what he's doing to Vampires."
"Question," Ty raised his hand up over his head, his legs kicked up over the arm of the chair as he lounged there, "How do we kill a Stalker that is not only very powerful, but immortal like myself?"
"My father has spells that he uses to dispel demons back to hell. If I get my hands on one, I can do that Kivar."
"You're going to need more than just two grimoires, love."
