Two more days of training and Lucas was getting anxious. There had been no word on the Families, or what they were doing. Neither had there been anything on the whereabouts of Vahn, Mithviya or Kivar. It was almost too quiet. Just the thought alone gave the Vampire chills down his spine. Even so, he supposed that it was a nice break from everything. To top it off his training with the demon was helping.
"Better," Drezair's voice cooed as Lucas sat atop him, a makeshift blade in his hand at the other boy's throat. The demon tried to move, tried to get the upper hand in the situation, but the Vampire invoked his gravity and pinned his boyfriend to the ground. Lucas lifted an eyebrow at him as the demon struggled visibly to move.
"I think this means I win."
Drezair stopped moving to look up at Lucas with a strange gleam in his eyes. With a grin the demon relinquished his hold and Ty's human features replaced that of the pointed ears, yellowed eyes and sharp fangs. Tilting his head off to the side, Ty grinned up at him as well.
"I wouldn't mind you on top. All you have to do is ask."
Lucas felt his face heat very quickly, his eyes widened in shock and for a moment he could only sit there in embarrassment. After a moment, he finally regained his composure and got to his feet in an instant.
"Shut up," he snapped as he let go of the power that he'd been using to create the metal knife. The chunk of steel that he'd taken from the bleachers reverted back to its original state and fell to the ground with a loud thud.
"Oh, come on now. You should be used to that by now," Ty's voice called as Lucas turned away from him. The taller boy had gotten to his feet and a few seconds later, the Vampire felt his arms around his shoulders. Warm breath nuzzled against his throat as his boyfriend leaned against him.
"Yeah, whatever."
"You're so stubborn. But that's what I love about you. Hey."
"What?"
A strong hand turned him around and he found himself in a tight, warm, embrace. Ty smiled at him, his green eyes wild as usual. Fingers cupped under his chin and lifted his face upwards, "I love you," the boy whispered and then dipped down to kiss him.
Once again, Lucas was swept away, unable to think properly as he was kissed. He pulled away quickly as a sound at the far end of the gym echoed towards them. Lucas' hands were on Ty's chest as he pushed the other aside just enough to see who it was that had come. A gasp filled his chest and he shoved Ty aside to put himself before the human.
His hand swiped outwards towards the intruder who strode in, his air magic whipping towards Vahn with a mixture of heavy gravity. Vahn's lips parted into a grin as he raised his hand and allowed the blast of magic to hit him. The power exploded, but washed over the Stalker without any effect. Without moving, Vahn flicked his hand forward and Lucas was knocked off his feet.
The Vampire's cry of surprise filled the air, soon followed by his body smashing into the bleachers on the other end. Flattened against the metal, he was dazed by the hit and crumpled to the floor as soon as the magic released him. The world swam before his eyes as he pushed himself up on all fours slowly.
"Lucas!"
"Nice to see you again, boys," Vahn called softly.
Lucas shook his head slightly, trying to regain his senses. A hand on his shoulder alerted him to Ty's close proximity. The boy moved so that he could grip the Vampire under his arm and helped him stand. There was a bitter taste of blood in his mouth and Lucas was vaguely aware that he'd bitten his tongue when he'd smashed into the bleachers.
"I swear I'm going to kill you," Lucas growled and lurched forward, only to have Ty hold him back.
"So you say. But I think it's going to be much different, dear Lucas. And is that... two grimoires I see you're wearing? What happened to all those precious rules that you were so fond of, hu?"
Lucas didn't answer him, only narrowed his eyes and bared his sharp fangs at the other with a soft growl. Ty stepped forward, stretching one arm out in front of the Vampire. That arm was wreathed in silver flame that flickered back and forth down his sleeve.
"Why don't we test that?" Ty challenged.
"As you wish, human," Vahn returned without missing a beat. His form shuddered and Lucas' breath caught. Replacing his humanoid features was something akin to what Ty did when Drezair took over his body. Except the power that emanated off of him was far different.
Red eyes filled his original color, his entire frame shuddered into something far taller, far more muscular than before. Everything changed, even the school uniform that he'd walked in with. A long black jerkin covered his shoulders with a hood up over his black hair. The cloth was opened to reveal his firmly muscled chest and abdomen. What looked like scales curved along his forearms, ending in a long spike at his elbow.
"Ty..." Lucas' voice shook with a bit of fear, "What the hell is that? That's not a contract is it?"
His boyfriends silence gave him the chills. Ty's body was stiff as he stood in front of him. Even with Ty protecting him, he felt the shudder of terror rushing through his body. Slowly, the taller boy's head shook.
"No... that's not a contracting demon... I don't know what that is."
