Lucas watched from where he knelt as Ty's body started to lose the demonic features that were Drezairs. His heart pounded hard in his chest as he gaped at the event. Then, as streaks of crimson began falling down Ty's arm and soaking the black blazer, his eyes widened and he shouted.
"Stop!"
Lurching to his feet, the Vampire lunged for his boyfriend in an attempt to free him from the Stalkers deadly magic. However, as he crashed into Ty and they toppled to the floor, all he held was a very heavy body that was quickly losing its warmth. Eye's widening, his heart pounded hard against his ribs making it hurt.
"T-Ty..." he stuttered, his voice cracking and his throat growing dry.
Looking over his shoulder he was greeted by Drezair's form standing in place where Ty had been. The demon was wrapped in chains from his shoulders to his waist. Drezair glared at the Stalker who stood with a triumphant grin.
Lucas shook his head slowly, his hands tightening on Ty's shoulder and side. He opened and closed his mouth several times, trying to form words. Nothing came though and he felt utterly helpless as he sat there. Drezair turned then and directed his yellow gaze down at the Vampire.
"Why are you crying?" he asked with a smile.
"You idiot! You know why," he shot back with a gasping sob.
"Hey, this isn't over yet," Drezair said, his voice darkening as he returned his eyes to Kivar.
"You're right, it's not over yet. I'll be sure to send a few underlings to take care of you properly. I don't expect you'll be coming back anytime soon, Drezair."
Lucas released Ty's body, anger flooding him. His blood boiled as he stood up and invoked both of his grimoires. The metal holders for the torches shuddered as he took hold of them via the power in the grimoire and began shaping them to his desire. At the same time, Lucas worked the gravity and air in the room to center on Kivar.
His teeth ground together, chest heaving as tears fell from the lower lid of his eyes, "Bastard... Die!" he ground out between his tightly clenched teeth. The air exploded around him as he took hold of his projectiles and launched all four of them at the Stalker. At the same time, he wove the gravity to keep Kivar in place by increasing the pull of the earth's natural resource.
The room resounded with a boom as he released all of his angry energy into the attack. The wind whipped around him, tossing his clothes up and down and his hair wildly around his face. Lucas watched with a bit of satisfaction as his molded weapons ripped through Kivar's body. Blood splattered the floor as well as the Stalkers clothes and face as he coughed from the attack.
The Vampire would have continued his enraged assault but Drezair's voice cut through to him, shouting to try to get his attention. In all honestly, Lucas wasn't sure how long he had attacked Kivar, relentlessly ripping him apart with the molded metal. Nor was he sure how long the demon had been trying to get his attention.
"Lucas!"
He finally looked over, hot salty tears streaming down to his chin in waves. Slowly the air around him died down as he lost his strength to keep going. As the gravity released Kivar, the Stalker dropped down to the floor, panting.
Almost at the same time, the Vampire fell to his knees, defeated. His breath shook as he took a deep gasp of air. Shaking his head, he watched Drezair as the demon's form began to fade as he was being sent back to hell. His voice trembled as he forced the words from his tight throat.
"I... I can't... do this..."
"I'll come back, just give me some time, babe. I promise. I won't leave either of you. I promise you."
Lucas shook his head as he wrapped his arms around his chest, hugging himself as the demon disappeared completely. His shoulders shook slightly as he doubled over in anguish. His face flushed deep red as he struggled to keep his cries to himself. As the overwhelming burn built up in his chest, he finally opened his mouth and let out a terrible scream of rage.
He didn't notice Mithviya entering the room and kneeling next to Kivar's heavily wounded body. Nor did he hear her threatening words to him as she took hold of her superior and vanished in thin air. Lucas didn't feel the touch on his shoulder as he rocked himself slightly. Words whispered to him from one of the girls never reached his broken thoughts.
He felt himself fading, slowly caving in to the broken pieces of his heart, his very core. Everything essentially shattered, he couldn't do it again. How many times was it now? First Ahndrai and then Ty dying in front of him twice. However, it was much different now. Drezair had been ripped from the human's body that he'd been inhabiting and keeping alive for over forty years.
Slowly, Lucas collapsed. He fell into darkness. A darkness that he didn't want to come out of ever again.
