L'liya sat in the room her arms crossed over her chest and glowering at the floor. Lucas watched her with his fingers intertwined and lifted up near his lips. His silver eyes were narrowed, his demeanor added to the cold atmosphere of the room. Ty sat lounging on the sofa in the council room, his green gaze locked on L'liya. The Vampire was fairly sure that his boyfriend hadn't taken his eyes off the woman since they'd returned.

"What do you want, Lucas?" her voice broke the silence that had permeated the air.

"I want to know about the families," he answered her shortly.

L'liya looked up at him and grinned, a condescending look in her eyes, "Oh, so now you want to know. Why the sudden change of heart, Lucas?"

"That's not important. Just tell me about them."

"Why not ask them, you could ask your father."

"You know as well as I that asking would get me nothing. Especially and of the information that I want to know."

L'liya smirked at him and leaned forward, her arms still crossed over her chest, "You want to know about the grimoires hu? Well, I'm sure by now you know they have more than one. They've always had more than one. The grimoires don't do anything to us other than give us power. Grimoires don't sate our thirst, we already don't want to drink too much, and it's in our DNA.

"The Families only want to control us, to have us under their thumbs forever. Kivar realized that and started his rebellion. For that reason, he was cast out and degraded for his realizing the truth. We are being oppressed by the very people that say they are protecting us. So what do you think of it now, Lucas?"

"That doesn't explain your killing thousands of humans. You say your DNA naturally keeps you from drinking someone dry and from drinking from more than one person. However, there is plenty of evidence that suggests otherwise," Ember cut in. He was seated at the small desk in the corner of the room with Taylial on his lap.

"He's got a good point," Ty added, his grin stretching and his tone suggesting that he wanted nothing more than to take her head off her shoulders.

"I don't know what you mean," she cursed.

"Clearly you do," Nameia stated, her voice clipped as she too leaned forward and glowered at the Stalker.

"I don't. Kivar doesn't let me in on much these days. In fact, I haven't seen him or Vahn for a long time."

"Did they throw you to the curb? Oh you poor baby," the demi-God purred, sarcasm thick in her voice.

L'liya growled at her, baring sharpened fangs and her eyes narrowing to mere slits. Nameia didn't back down from her station and Lucas sighed heavily from his spot at the desk. This isn't going anywhere, he thought to himself angrily.

"That's enough," he ordered to the two women, giving them each a dark look, "Is there anything else you know, L'liya?"

"No," she snapped back, falling back against the chair with a huff as she turned her gaze towards the door.

Ty leaned forward, his grin growing broader, "I'm faster, though I don't mind if you want to try. Nothing like a chase to get the blood pumping."

"Ty!" Lucas scolded. His boyfriend turned his attention over to the Vampire and frowned, but relented none-the-less. Lucas shook his head slightly and returned his gaze to L'liya. What was he going to do with her now? He couldn't exactly let her go, but where would he hold her?

"Ember," he called out and turned to look at the young, adorable looking Vampire. The boy turned his pale green gaze upon Lucas and titled his head off to the side.

"What do you need, Lucas?"

"Keep an eye on L'liya. She's not to leave this room for anything," the Vampire said coolly as he stood up from his chair.

"Sure, she won't be going anywhere at all. Taylial and I can keep her under lock down very easily."

"Thank you, Ty aren't you supposed to be in class?"

Tyrathane looked up at him, a frown on his lips. If Lucas knew any better, he would think that the boy was pouting because he was getting scolded. Of course, he was sure his human boyfriend was probably more irritated that he was sending him away instead.

"I don't need to go to that class," Ty retorted.

"I'm still the school's class president. Even you can't get out of it with me. Come on, I'll take you there," the Vampire sighed as he came around the table to go to the door of the council room. Ty stood and followed him, right on his heels.

"You just don't want me to kill her," the human said as soon as the door closed behind them and they had entered the hall.

"Yeah, even though I'm still uncertain. I... just for now, Ty."

The taller boy leaned forward and gripped Lucas' shoulder, halting him as they went down the hall. With a strong grip and a quick motion, he twirled the Vampire around full circle and pushed him against the wall. Dipping down slightly, Ty locked his lips over Lucas' and worked open his mouth to slide his tongue inside.

The Vampire was completely taken by surprise and couldn't fight back. Even so, his body melted under the touch and passionate kiss that Ty gave him. With his face fully flushed, his breath gone, Lucas rested against the wall with his boyfriend as his only support.

Ty finally pulled away, allowing the Vampire to breathe, "I love you."

"I think... this time," Lucas panted as he gazed into gorgeous green eyes with his languid, "I love you more," he wrapped his arms around Ty's neck and pulled him back down for another, longer kiss.
