"Come on babe, you're holding back on me," Drezair called. Ty chuckled from the corner of his consciousness. He'd allowed the demon to take over during their training sessions. Mostly because Drezair was far stronger than himself and able to keep up with a Vampire such as Lucas, and also to test his boyfriends limits. So far, the Vampire was unsure of himself which led to his not going full out on Ty.
"Shut up," the Vampire muttered.
"It's true. You're afraid. Come on, this is why it's me you're fighting and no one else."
"You're holding back too," his boyfriend snapped, growling angrily at them.
"Temper temper... you really picked a hot one, Ty," Drezair commented lightly, amused at the display.
"Yup. But you know me. I like the fiery ones."
The demon laughed inwardly, outwardly his lips pulled into a grin, flashing his fangs at Lucas. Outstretching his hands, he flexed his fingers and allowed the silver magic to curl along his arms. The powerful spell flickered like flames along his arms.
"You caught me there, I'm sorry babe. I'll be serious this time."
"Try not to hurt him too much. As much as I love having him bite me, I don't like him being in pain."
"I'll do my best Ty, but expect a couple scratches. After all, he's nervous and unsure. We need to break that out of him."
Without warning, Drezair launched himself straight at the Vampire. The boy's silver eyes widened in shock and he quickly put up both hands to defend himself, crossing them in front of his face. His magic must have kicked it for it was the only thing that saved him from the bone breaking attack that the demon delivered. Drezair's hand stopped only inches from Lucas' forearm, held back by the boy's ability to control gravity and air.
Lucas had only thought that he could throw people around using their gravity, but since the day he'd confronted his father, he'd found he could do other things as well. One of which was to create a small air barrier between himself and any spell or oncoming object. It wasn't perfect, by all means, but it was definitely a step forward.
For the past few days, the pair had come to the gymnasium at the end of school to train. Drezair was the one in charge of training Lucas, for the obvious reasons given. Even though the Vampire knew that he could hardly do any real damage to the demon, he still held back. Ty had to agree that if they were to make any progress, they had to force Lucas to fight seriously.
"Better, but you're wide open, babe," Drezair commented, his voice growling at the end as he pulled back rather sharply and delivered a hard kick to Lucas' exposed side. Inwardly, Ty winced as his boyfriend went hurling through the air. He hit the floor and skid to a stop.
Laying on his stomach, the Vampire panted as he slowly pushed himself up onto all fours. Wincing, he finally got to his feet, his hand wiping across his lips as he glowered at Drezair who only smiled at him.
"Did you have to kick him so hard?" Ty complained.
"You want him to survive this war?"
"Point taken..."
"Well, now that I know you've stopped being nice to me, I guess I'll stop too," Lucas shot and opened his hand at his side. Swiping the air, he sent a crushing wave of air at the demon. Should he have been in human form, Ty would have been knocked off his feet. However, Drezair was hardly affected. To him it was merely a breeze that brushed past him.
Lucas' lips pulled into a smile that unnerved both demon and human. Ty wondered what his boyfriend was planning, and was soon met with the answer. The air swirled around them and then everything grew heavy. The Vampire had kicked in his gravity, turning it against the pair. Slowly, Drezair began to drop down to his knees as the pull was too much to combat.
It felt as if a thousand tons had been put upon his shoulders. Even so, the demon smiled at the Vampire, one eye closing slightly from the strain. Ty groaned, feeling the pressure himself. Lucas flicked open his other hand and the metal bleachers trembled. His fingers curled and a section of metal flew towards him. It seemed to melt and remold itself.
"He's getting better," Drezair said, his voice clipped from the pressure that held him down.
Before hand, Lucas had tried to do both techniques and failed miserably. Either he would lose control over the gravity to hold the demon in place, or he wouldn't be able to reform the metal. It was definitely an improvement.
"Even so, his hold on the gravity is weakening still... he needs more practice," Ty commented lightly.
"That'll come in time. For the moment, let's have a bit of fun shall we?"
Ty laughed as Lucas turned his attention to them and rushed them, his Vampiric speed nearly matching what Drezair was capable of. At the last second, the Vampire thrust the makeshift blade at the demon's exposed neck. In that instant, Drezair broke free from Lucas' hold and lunged forward. Knocking the blade harmlessly to the side, he barreled into the boy and took them both to the ground.
Landing on top, he grinned down at Lucas who winced at having been struck so hard. With a soft groan, the Vampire released all of his magic and peeled open one eye to frown up at Drezair.
"You're getting better babe."
"Shut up," he snapped back, blushing.
"Aww, don't be like that, Lucas. You know he likes to tease you," Ty said as the demon relinquished his hold and returned Ty's body.
"Yeah, just like you."
"You bet," grinning, he leaned down as he cupped Lucas' chin and kissed him.
