After finding some motivation, Newt was able to complete his note for Thomas. He would admit that it felt weird going back into this but he knew that if he wanted this situation to be okay, he needed to do it. Plus, it was like a weight off of his shoulders when writing his feelings. He was just weary of Thomas' reaction when he reads it.

Placed in a small blue envelope (he remembered Thomas telling him that blue was his favourite colour), he found himself walking up to the brunette's apartment door, which brought many memories back from when they were first together.

Bouncing off the tip of his toes, Newt felt incredibly nervous waiting at Thomas' door. The blonde wasn't usually nervous when it came to dating but for some reason, Thomas just made him feel like he was the luckiest guy in the world, which made him feel that he had a lot to live up to. They'd been talking for a while now and the blonde had finally plucked up the courage to ask the brunette on their first date. With chocolates, a teddy bear and a bouquet of baby's breath flowers, he waited patiently at the door for Thomas to answer.

It felt like centuries but a few moments later, Thomas opened the door and Newt just stood there. Frozen. He was soo mesmerised by Thomas' beauty: the softness of his chocolate hair, the spark in his hazel eyes - Newt was in deep. He didn't even realise that he was staring until he felt a soft hand touch his arm.

"Newt? Are you alright?" the brunette was concerned but he found it adorable how the blonde was practically shaking with nerves.

"Here! For you!" Newt said enthusiastically, shoving the presents into Thomas' hands.

"Huh, this is a lot. But thank you Newt." Thomas thanked him with a smile that made the blonde want to fall to his knees.

This was going to be a good date.

"Newt? What are you doing here?"

Newt was knocked out of his thoughts when he found Teresa, looking at him as if he were some crazy person. He didn't realise that he'd knocked because he had been soo caught up in the memory.

"Hi Teresa, umm..." Newt didn't really know what to say as he fiddled with the note in his hands.

Clearly, Teresa could see what was happening and snatched it out of his hands, taking it for herself. She smiled as he gasps in shock and tries to get it off her but when looking at what she took, her smile dropped. She knew how bad of an idea these notes were and if they were to start this again, it would end in heartbreak for the two of them.

"Look I know it's not the best thing to do but I just... I wanted to show Thomas that I'm trying to fix things. I wanted to see if he'd be willing to as well."

Newt hated that he had to be the one starting things again because he felt that it was both of them that caused the havoc of their relationship but if he wanted to stop this mess, he needed to be the bigger person. He had no clue if Thomas would respond or be willing to mend what was broken but there was no harm in trying.

"Please, Teresa. Could you give to him?" he pleads with her and after a few moments, she nods, giving him a small smile.

"Goodnight Newt." she says, before closing the door shut.

Newt left the apartment satisfied. Hopefully, Thomas would read that note and they could begin to mend things between them. They had to, they didn't just hurt each other. They hurt people around them as well.

Teresa, on the other hand, had a different idea. While she thought it was sweet that Newt was trying again and she would love nothing more in the world than to have the two of them happy together again, she knew that with them, the consequences outweigh the benefits. When Thomas and Newt were together, they would destroy everything around them, themselves included. Teresa couldn't let herself put her younger brother through that again, it would break him.

Even though it was killing her inside, she tosses the blue envelope in the bin, hoping that Thomas never finds it.

"It's for your own good, boys." she whispers to herself as she heads off to bed.
