Thinking about what happened between him and Newt, Thomas couldn't help but feel that he should be doing more. He understood why Newt did what he did - he didn't treat him or Sonya right. If the roles were switched and if Newt called Teresa such a horrible thing, he would be furious. But Thomas hated this... this feeling of guilt that he had to deal with. The past is the past and he needed to make sure that it doesn't interfere with anyone's business anymore.
"I'm going out." he tells his sister as he grabs his hoodie and keys, walking towards the door.
"You're not going to see Newt again, are you?" she scoffs, stepping right in front of him, blocking him from leaving.
"No... I'm going to see Sonya." he answers, moving to get past but Teresa pushes him away from the door.
"Woah, Tom. Have you thought this through? Sonya and you don't have the best friendship."
"T, I hurt soo many people when I was Newt. Especially Sonya. For me to move on, I need to mend what I broke." he says firmly, pushing past her and leaving. But before he left, he turns to face her with a smirk on his face.
"Oh, and do me a favour. Give Minho a call."

"Come in." Sonya calls as she hears a knock at the door.
She supposed that it would be Harriet as she always pays the girl daily visits as her apartment can become lonely at times, especially since Aris had left for a business trip for a couple of weeks. Except it wasn't Harriet, rather it was Thomas, looking very nervous. She could sense how nervous it was and she found it sweet but she kept remembering what he had said about her, which brought a frown on her face.
"Hi... Thomas."
"Hi Sonya." he mumbled, standing awkwardly at the door, his hands in his pockets.
"What are you doing here?" she questions him as they both take a seat, opposite to one another.
To be honest, Thomas didn't know why he was here. He just needed to stop this feeling of helplessness, he needed to do something, anything to mend whatever he was feeling. Taking a deep breath, he takes his hands out of his pockets and looks up to face her. She had that concerning look on her face, the similar one that Teresa gives him and instantly, he feels comfortable.
"I want to apologise. For what happened. I know it's long overdue and—"
"Thomas, you don't have to apologise." she smiles, placing her hand on his.
"No, I really do. Sonya, you were like a second sister to me and what I said was the worst thing that anyone could ever say. I couldn't imagine what you guys have been through and to call you orp— you know the word was just wrong on all levels. I was selfish and I didn't think about you. I was soo caught up of wanting Newt when I should have realised that I can't always have him. He's your brother and you need him just as much as I do, even more. Family should always come first. I'm soo sorry for everything that I did, everything that I said. It wasn't fair of me to say. You guys have gone through hell and back and survived. That's pretty fricking amazing."
"Thomas, I appreciate you coming over and saying this but this... you didn't need to do this. You don't have to apologise to me."
"What do you mean? I hurt you, I called you horrible things."
"I know, but being called an orphan, that doesn't hurt me. Sure, I've been called some pretty grim things before but I know you. I know that it was an outburst and you didn't mean it. You're a good person, Thomas."
"I just... wanted to mend things."
"And I'm glad that you are! We're fine, don't worry." she laughs, coming over to give him a side hug.
This reassured the brunette a lot. He was soo worried about what Sonya would think about him but he forgot that the blonde girl is the biggest softie in the world. She always sees the best in someone, even if they can't see it for themselves.
"There is one person that you should apologise to." she suggests, pointing to a particular door.
"Newt."
"He was the real one that got hurt. The rest of us got side-tracked but that's okay, we can fix it ourselves. Newt was the one hurt by your words, not me."
Sonya was right, Thomas was soo focused on what everyone else thought: her, Teresa, Minho - that he didn't even realise how much this hurt Newt. He was soo worried about how this all affected him that he didn't even imagine what it would be like for the blonde. He had to break off a relationship that he loved but couldn't stand being in. He controlled Newt and he hated himself for doing so.
"Is he here?"
"Yeah, he just took some time to journal. Go to him." she urges him, practically pushing him out of his seat.
Here goes everything, the brunette thought to himself as he approaches the door blocking him and Newt. Thomas never wanted to let him go and he wasn't going to start now.

IT'S ABOUT TO GO DOWN okay nothing is gonna go wrong, i just wanted to say that :)
also its fricking boiling in england man, like 24 degrees? no thanks - i don't want to work in this heat (especially because i have to wear all black). so rip me.
if updates come a little less frequent as usual, its because i have a routine. i upload a prewritten chapter (usually 2 or 3 days old) and try to write a new one in the same day. but i can't always do that so if i don't update, its because i don't have something to upload with or i don't have enough to post. i hope that kinda makes sense but that's why i upload everyday (for now).
i hope you all are having a lovely day!! love you tons <33
