With a coffee cup in his right hand and a poetry book in his left, Newt was sat in his designated seat in the same bookstore that he met Thomas. Reading the words that spoke so harshly about heartache had no effect on the blonde; he had become numb to the feeling. He... couldn't feel anything.
With the sound of the bell, the blonde knew that someone had come through the door - he was dreading who it would be. He could hear the footsteps coming towards him and as much as Newt wanted to move, he couldn't. His feet were stuck as if captured in ice.
Regardless, he remained to keep his eyes on the pages of the book but he couldn't shake the feeling to look. He knew he couldn't resist. Fortunately, he didn't need to be the first to look at him as his name was called.

"Newt." Thomas sighs, hoping that the blonde would at least face him once.
Thankfully, the boy in front placed the book aside and turned to face him. God, looking into those familiar eyes made the brunette melt. However, the facial expression was different - instead of happiness, it was of annoyance. Noticing that Newt wouldn't speak up, Thomas began to talk a little more, hoping to warm up to him.
"I see you're reading our book."
"It's not our book." the blonde blurted out, catching the eyes of other readers around the two boys.
"It used to be."
Sighing, Newt began to get up but Thomas grabs his arm to stop him. Realising what he had done, he immediately lets go and apologises, hanging his head low. Nevertheless, the blonde continued to move to leave, scoffing at the brunette as he brushes past him.
"Newt, wait." and with his luck, the blonde actually stopped and turned to face him.
"What happened to us?"
"Me and you, we were made to break." Newt mumbles before walking out of the bookstore, leaving a confused and sorrowful brunette behind.
