Thomas was at Newt's apartment at one on the dot. Usually, he wasn't punctual but this was important, not just for Teresa and Minho but for him as well. He didn't know if he could handle this drama as well as everything else that was going on. He was surprised when the blonde agreed to meet him but he understood why; they both needed to put their own problems aside and focus on their mission. The mission of fixing the mess that Brenda had imploded.

He didn't have to even knock on the door, Newt opened it as soon as Thomas reached it. He knew that Newt has a sixth sense and he was glad because they need to plan how to fix all of this fast because time was running out. He knew Teresa: she tended to rush into relationships very quickly and he was certain that it was going to happen again.

"Good, you're here." Newt says, letting Thomas into the apartment.

"Where's Minho?" he asks and the boy points to a bedroom door that was closed.

"He hasn't left his room ever since he came back from yours. He wouldn't even speak to me." Newt sighs, his eyes drifting down to look at the floor.

"What happened to him, Tommy?"

"Brenda happened." Thomas groans, taking a seat on the familiar sofa, Newt sitting beside him.

"Wait. Brenda Brenda? Like the drunken mess that broke Teresa's heart multiple times and practically ruined her as a person?"

The blonde was furious. Thomas had told him countless stories of the brunette girl and how horrible she was in her relationship with Thomas' sister. He couldn't believe that she was putting herself through all that torture and pain again. When this happened the first time, he was still dating Thomas and he and Teresa were incredibly close. He could remember countless late nights on the phone with a heartbroken Teresa, mumbling how Brenda had manipulated her again and again. How her alcoholic behaviour made her impulsive and aggressive against her. Teresa was such a sweet girl that deserved someone that would treat as if she was the most precious person in the world.

Minho would do that. He swore to it, not only to her but to everyone. He loves the fucking crap out of the girl and Newt just didn't understand why she went back to her instead of him.

"Yes her. I just don't understand. T isn't stupid, she remembers what happened. I just don't get why she would go back to her." Thomas complains, clearly looking stressed.

Then it finally clicked. Newt could understand why Teresa gave her a second chance. He had the same to Thomas when he reached out to him. Even though he didn't agree with what she was doing, she knew that she couldn't let this go. She wanted to try again, just like Newt wanted when he wanted Thomas back. And he did get him back, maybe not in the way he wanted but they were okay. Maybe that's what Teresa was planning to do but there are some people that cannot change. After all, Thomas changed for Newt and both of them knew that Brenda would never change for Teresa.

"Thomas, I get why she did it. She did for the same reason why I came back to you. There's still a small part of her that loves Brenda and she wanted to fix it."

Sighing, Thomas knew that Newt was right. Teresa was really in love with her and he understood that it would be hard to get over it.

"Even if she still loves her, we both know that she can't go through this. Newt, did you see her after what Brenda did to her? She broke her soul. You think what happened to us was bad, it was even worse for her. We need to fix this. I said to you that I wanted to mend things, not just between us but with everything around us. Remember, we broke up Teresa and Minho in the first place. We owe it to them to get them their second chance at love." the brunette cries, tears streaming from his face.

Newt hated seeing Thomas cry, it broke his own heart. Pulling him to his arms, he slightly cradled him until he stopped crying. They used to do this when they were together, Thomas used to tell the blonde that it helped him a lot. But doing this again, Newt thought that it would be weird as they weren't together but it felt just right. Maybe they weren't as perfectly wrong for each other as he thought.

"Tommy, we're gonna fix this. Teresa needs this. Minho needs this. After all, they are a pretty cute couple and... I kinda miss our schemes." Newt giggles, smiling when he hears Thomas do the same.

"So... what do we do then?"

"First, we need to get rid of Brenda. We need to see what her intentions are and show them to Teresa, proving to her that it was wrong to get back together with her. Then, we try and get Minho and Teresa back together. We can't force them but we'll nudge a little."

"That sounds perfect." Thomas smiles, placing his head on the blonde's shoulder.

Even though they were figuring out what to do with Teresa and Minho, they also were figuring out what this meant for them. Perhaps, after fixing this, they could fix each other. Just because something is broken doesn't mean it's broken forever. And both Newt and Thomas were determined to fix their relationship in the right way. But their friends come first.

i feel like that this is becoming more of a minresa book oops :/ but there is some newtmas and i hope its enough for you all!

i feel that this book will be ending soon, i don't know when but with the process of newt and thomas' relationship, i feel like we're reaching the end of it. but you definitely have a few more chapters before all that :)
