A/N: Because I'm so nice, I'm doing a double update. Enjoy, baby!
Avian
Y/n had gone to bed, leaving me shoveling ice cream into my mouth downstairs. What, I'm stressed. I never worried about telling her the truth before. Now Mom had been sending me urgent messages that I had to tell I was her father.
I groaned, thinking back to the incident so long. Scarlett Fowler and I were so young and stupid. Drunk, actually. That's what caused the incident. It was a one night stand. Then Scarlett was pregnant. When she gave birth to Y/f/n, we had planned on being there for our kid. But we were just seventeen.
Scarlett had to move to Chicago. She had begged me to take care of Y/f/n for her. I had agreed. My parents kicked me out. They were furious that I already had a child. So, I wandered the streets. Then the Hamilton family found me. Eliza and Alex brought me in. Y/n grew up with Philip, Angelica, and all the other many kids Eliza and Alex had.
You should call her, I told myself. I inhaled shakily.
"Hello? Who is this?" Her voice made me smile. I suppose I really did love her. But I'm sure she has her own life now and has forgotten about Y/n and I.
"Hey, Scarlett. It's Avian. You remember me?" I said softly. Muffled sounds.
"Oh my gosh, Avian? It's really you? I thought you had forgotten me!" Scarlett exclaimed. I laughed quietly.
"No, how could I forget about the beautiful girl who is the mother of our seventeen, almost eighteen, year old daughter," I chuckled, knowing she was blushing. Scarlett was always easily flustered.
"Oh my gosh, I still can't believe she's turning eighteen in a couple weeks," Scarlett giggled.
"Same here," I smiled. " Look, Scar, I called because my parents are pressuring me into telling Y/n the truth. I don't know how to do it." Silence. Shoot, I must've screwed up.
"Av, how about I come to your house," Scarlett suggested quietly. My breathing hitched.
"Y-you would do that?" my voice was hoarse.
"Of course. Address?"
"9820 Murphy ;) Drive, Lakeworth, Florida," I said. More silence. I swallowed nervously. "Scar, you okay?"
"Avian! We live in the same neighborhood!" she practically shouted into the phone. I winced slightly but grinned still.
"Awesome!(wow! I'll stop, heh) Do you think you could come over some time tomorrow?" I asked.
"Yes! I'm free for dinner," she offered.
"Alright, dinner it is," I smiled to myself.
"See you then, Av!"
"Bye, Scarlett."
"Who were you calling?" I jumped, turning around to find Y/n leaning against the door frame.
"Holy crap, you're supposed to be in bed, child," I exclaimed, scared half to death by her sudden comment. My daughter shrugged.
"You deserve it," Y/n said simply. I rolled my green eyes.
"And how exactly do I 'deserve it'?" I challenged. She shrugged again.
"I dunno, you just do. I'm going to bed, night," Y/n left the room.
"Night, N/n," I called after her.
Next Day
Y/n
"Hey, N/n, meet Avalon," Andrew said, gesturing to a girl next to him. She had beautiful fiery red hair, topaz colored eyes, and pale skin. Avalon wore a white tank and black skater skirt.
"Hi, Avalon," I said quietly. She stared at me in disgust. " I'm Y/f/n, but you can call me Y/n."
"If I wanted to talk to you," she scoffed, strutting away. I groaned. Hooray, another b*itchy 'popular' girl. Don't you love them? Andrew looked worried.
"Avalon will come around, don't worry," Drew tried to assure me. He chased after said person. I sighed.
"Hey, Y/n? I'm sorry for snapping at you and doubting you," I heard someone mumble behind me. I turned around only to find the Justin Laboy standing behind me.
"I accept your apology, Justin. Can we please stop fighting? I just want to be friends," I offered, sticking my hand out. He beamed and nodded, shaking said limb.
"Are you and Ella doing well?" I asked. It was a touchy and tense subject, but I was asking as a friend, not a jealous admirer.
"We made up," Justin shrugged. I smiled genuinely for once. Seemed I had control of myself again. We chatted for the rest of the day, becoming quite close. I quickly found that Justin was easy to trust. He didn't judge, just listened and accepted people for who they really were. We eventually exchanged numbers.
"Bye, Justin, see you tomorrow," I waved goodbye to him before starting my walk home. When I arrived at the condominium, I found Avian cooking. I sighed happily after sniffing the scented air.
"Mmm, are you making sweet and sour meatballs, Av?" I asked, hoping the answer would be a 'yes'.
"Yup, we have a guest. Can you set the table, N/n," he confirmed. I snickered.
"Is it a girl, Avian," I teased, setting the silverware neatly on the table. He blushed.
"No, I'm not looking for a relationship," he reminded me.
"I know, just teasing you," I replied. We kept up the friendly banter until the doorbell rang.
"I'll get it," Avian volunteered, walking towards the door. I shrugged and dished out food onto each plate. "Y/n, this is Miss Fowler."
"I know you!" I bounced on my toes. " You're my math teacher!" Miss Fowler laughed.
"Yeah, hi, Y/n," as we sat down, bad thoughts raced through my head.
"Um, I'm not in trouble, am I?" I swallowed nervously, fidgeting from anxiety. Miss Fowler laughed again.
"Oh, honey, you aren't," she assured me. I exhaled in relief.
"We do have some news for you, though," Avian said nervously. I stared at them both, gaze occasionally darting back and forth from one to the other. Dinner was almost over.
"Y/f/n, your mom... isn't actually your mom. And I'm not your brother. Y/n, I'm your dad and Miss Fowler is your mom," Avian said slowly. Miss Fowler squeezed Avian's hand.
"R-repeat that."
"Miss Fowler and I are your parents, Y/n."
