Y/n
Ah, Halloween. Best time of the year, eh? No.
I freaking hate Halloween. Don't get me wrong, free candy and dressing up is awesome. But the school festival? Not so awesome.
Everyone at school has to contribute. And so, I choreographed a dance to Spooky Skeletons (I have no idea if that's correct). Tonight, I had to perform.
"Ready, Y/n?" Avian asked excitedly, pulling into the school parking lot. Everything was decorated with Halloween stuff. Skeletons, witches, hale bales for fall, vampires, toilet paper (mostly the guys idea), and billions of other 'creepy' things.
"Sure," I said, glaring at a jack-o-lantern with a wicked grin. Weird.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Avian asked, turning around with his arm draped over the seat.
"Nothing," I mumbled, opening the door. My dad frowned but didn't push the matter.
I slipped into the girl's locker room and changed into my costume. It was a black dress with golden sparkles. The headband was a beautiful purple which faded into darker shades of purple and eventually black.
As I walked towards the gym, where I'd be performing, I ran into Justin.
"Hey, Y/n, you look cute," he said with a smile, eyes looking my body up and down. The dress displayed my curves in an appropriate way.
"Thanks, Justin," I smiled back, yet a hollow feeling filled me. "Did you talk to Ella?"
"Yeah," he sighed, staring at the ground. " Yeah, I did."
"How'd it go," I asked sadly.
"We're together again," Justin frowned, stepping towards me. "But I really don't want to be."
"I-I know," I stammered, a little flustered since there was little space between us.
"N/n, I just want you," he whispered, arms wrapped around me. I sighed and hugged back.
"You have Ella. Please try to be happy with her," I mumbled into his neck.
"Fine," Justin grumbled, kissing my nose. " Good luck with your dance."
"Thanks," I said, watching him walk away. " Bye, Justin."
"Bye."

"Whoo! That's my girl!" Avian shouted as the crowd gave me a standing ovation. I blushed and rolled my eyes as I bowed.
"You did great, baby," Scarlett encouraged, meeting me outside the girl's locker room.
"Thanks," I blushed slightly as we waited for Avian to join us.
Scarlett, Avian, and I walked to the car, planning on getting some ice cream. We piled into the car and drove off to the ice cream parlor.
"Night," Avian said when we got home. I smiled and went upstairs to my bedroom.
Groaning, I flopped onto my bed. Why couldn't I just be with my soulmate? Guess I threw away my shot.
