Sabrina's POV

I opened my eyes just to close the again right away. I was nearly blinded by the amount of sunlight seeping in through the windows of the room I was in. While we're at that, I had no idea where I was. The first thing I remembered was that Austin and I were on a vacation in Las Vegas. Then I remembered what my room looked like and could immediately tell that the room I was in wasn't the one Austin and I were staying in. It seemed similar, but many things were off. The color of the curtains, the view through the window, etc. I saw the XPLR shirt on the floor and nearly had a heart attack. The latest memories, aka the ones from the night prior came flooding back. I felt nauseous and it wasn't because I was hung over. I crossed my fingers and took a peek under the covers and JESUS CHRIST, I WAS NAKED! I looked around, carefully analyzing the floor of the room for my things. I found my bra and underwear and quickly put them on. While doing so, I looked at my wrist watch and realized it was only 6 AM. The sickness I was feeling accompanied with the need for sleep pushed me back in bed. I knew it was wrong but it was either that or pass out somewhere in the hallways of the hotel. My plan definitely backfired cause I couldn't fall asleep, for obvious reasons.

~ What the hell am I going tell Austin?! Oh, God, I can't even think of an excuse that's reasonable! I was drugged and kidnapped and dropped off in my ex's room naked? Yeah, I'm sure that makes a lot of sense.

As I was digging through my brain, looking for something that could be considered a reasonable excuse for me not being in my room the entire night, I heard the lock of the room door click. I barely had time to pretend I was knocked out cold. Colby walked in, but what confused me was the fact that I heard only one pair of footsteps but heard different voices. It didn't take me long to put two and two together (even though I wasn't in the best state of mind) and realize he was just listening to his voice mail. I felt the bed shift and opened my eye just a crack to see him sitting on the bottom of the bed. I seriously didn't mean to eavesdrop, but I didn't really have a choice. Two messages, one from Sam and one from Brennen, later, I heard a voice mail sent to him by a girl who I was assuming was his girlfriend.

"Colby, I swear to God, it's not what it seems like. I didn't cheat on you, Colby. I could never and would never do such a thing. Please just call me back and hear me out. Bye."

I completely forgot I was pretending to be asleep and let my eyelids lift up, opening my eyes wide with shock. My stomach turned and I was one second away from throwing up. I blinked a couple times, giving my brain time to grasp what it just heard. What I managed to make out of the newly received information was:

~ You were a revenge fuck. She cheated on him, he cheated back. You were just a conveniently placed tool. You were just a part of his plan. A revenge fuck, nothing more. Just a one night stand that he'll forget by this afternoon.

That thought process only made me more nauseous. I didn't care about discreet at this point. I pushed the covers off me and put my feet down on the floor, waiting for my head to stop spinning before fully getting up on my feet.

- You heard that, didn't you - Colby said as he too got up and turned around to face me

- Yeah, I heard it. I'm glad I came in handy - I smiled a fake and sarcastic smile as I put my clothes back on

He knows me way too well, so I wasn't surprised at all when he immediately knew what I had come up with when I put all the pieces together. He came a few steps closer - It's not like that, Sabrina. Can you just hear me out?

- No, no I can't. I have a boyfriend that I have to apologize to. And don't try to explain, I've got it all figured out by now. Have a nice day - I picked up my purse and left without looking back.
