Sabrina's POV
- Sorry for crashing at your place unannounced - Alex told me as I accompanied him the to his car down the street the morning after the party.
- Not a problem - I waved my hand nonchalantly - You're welcome anytime.
His smile was enough of a "thank you". Despite him actually saying those words, his smile still said a lot more about his gratitude than his words.
- Um, Sab...... - He turned around just as he was about to get into his car - Do you think we could maybe......
He cut himself off, rubbing the back of his neck and looking at everything except me. Hell, at one point he even looked at the sun and flinched instantly. I tried to hold back my laughter, seeing how seriously nervous he was.
- Either spit it out or leave before I beat it out of you - I warned him with a teasing smile to show I wasn't actually being serious. OK, maybe I was to a certain degree. I've always hated when people delay telling me something.
- Go out to dinner or to grab coffee? - he asked. I'm pretty sure that if someone saw us from across the street, they would think Alex was talking to somebody invisible behind me. That's how badly he was avoiding my gaze.
I thought about it for a second. Maybe a few. Maybe a bit longer than I probably should have. I didn't want to screw things up with Colby, but I also didn't want straight out reject Alex.
- Um, sure. I'd love that. - I said after what felt like an awkward forever
- Great! - I could see him relax as a mix of relief and joy flashed on his face - Tonight? I'll pick you up at 8?
- Sounds good, see you then - I smiled before kissing him on the cheek and low-key speed-walking back into the house.
What the hell did you just do?!
I tried to convince myself I made the right call. Any other response would've been rude, right?
Uh-uh, sure. Keep telling yourself that.
Well, what else could I've done?!
You could've just told him you're not looking for a relationship at the moment.
We're going to dinner, not starting a relationship, you twat!
Riiiiiggggghhhttt.......
- Are you gonna join us for breakfast or are you just gonna stand there, looking pissed - Elton's voice silenced the two conflicting ones in my head.
I nodded and chuckled nervously. What the fuck was I doing? Well, apart from losing my mind.
- Bacon and eggs? I cooked them - Elton gave me a glance over his shoulder with a raised eyebrow, pleading me to try the meal.
- No, thanks though. I'm not quite up for food poisoning - I said with an apologetic smile and took a bowl from one of the cupboards. - I'll go with cereal.
Elton frowned at me jokingly. He didn't take offense when I made fun of his cooking. He too understood how much he sucked at it and didn't bother defending himself when he knew I was right.
I made myself a bowl of cereal and sat down on one of the bar stools, scrolling through Instagram as I ate. I had to edit two videos and the last thing I wanted was distractions, so I decided to get my daily dose of celebrity gossip and view pics before I got started.
Everyone gathered in the kitchen for breakfast. I tried to keep myself from staring at Colby, who by the way was shirtless, and stop my eyes from doing shit on their own accord.
