"well, i wouldn't call it highly suspicious at first, but that person seems remarkably interested in getting to know my friend here, you see," wonwoo added, as the cop hummed in response.
"are you sure the guy doesn't simply have a small crush on you or something? like, he just wants to know more about you or something?" the officer questions the pink-haired woman.
"i don't think so, that's pretty impossible," jihoon replied, shaking his head. "and he hadn't seen me yet, but i remembered that jeonghan hyung had already mentioned me to the guy before."
"so, does that mean the guy has no idea what your face looks like yet?" the officer inquired. "like, he literally has no idea what your hair color is like? or what your skin complexion is?" the officer continued.
"i assume he already did," wonwoo said. "i mean, he once told us that he's saw a glimpse of jihoon from our first meeting, and he even knows what color jihoon's hair is." the black-haired doctor continued, looking as serious as ever. "so yeah, i guess that he's pretty familiar with his face, but not that much." added wonwoo.
"unfortunately, we can't still consider him as the main suspect in this case due to our lack of proper evidences, so we can't ask him to come over," said the officer named shin hoseok. "however, since it seems that he was the only person that you can consider as one, we might as well investigate the guy."
"do you know anything about him? like his name? his age? or where he currently lives at and what he does for a living?" the officer continued.
both shook their heads no.
"unfortunately, no. i don't recall his name at all, but i remember hearing it once," wonwoo replied. "and we didn't know much about him aside from being related to my past patient named, mingyu." the black haired continued his remark.
"on that note, you said earlier that your patient mingyu and this suspect individual are blood relatives, most likely cousins, right?" the officer inquired.
wonwoo said, "yes, that's what i was told to."
"speaking of which, you mentioned that that guy was the same person who fetch mingyu during his discharge?" the officer inquired once more, not forgetting to jot down information that appears to be relevant to the investigation.
with a hum, the black-haired doctor nodded.
"may i inquire as to how close you are to your late patient called mingyu?" the officer inquired, seemingly out of nowhere.
"huh? excuse me?" the black-haired doctor asked, taken aback at first.
wonwoo hadn't expected to be asked this kind of question in the first place, especially in the context of this investigation, or maybe he did but chooses to act ignorant of it.
"well," the black-haired doctor added quickly, "i guess that we're cool with each other, we're not that awkward, but we're not that close either." he continued, observing that he had no personal information on mingyu following his release on the asylum and it makes him uncomfortable.
"then, do you perhaps know who this mingyu is?" the officer asked jihoon.
"i sure do," he said, nodding. "i wouldn't call him a friend yet, but we're not awkward either."
"then, have you consider the possibility that, that mingyu person knows anything about this?" the officer continued. "or, if that maroon-haired guy is really up to something, have you ever considered that he's using mingyu as a bait to lure you inside his trap?"
there was a brief pause in the conversation.
this was something that the black haired wonwoo had never considered before and it's not like him at all.
so, what is his justification for not doing so?
it's because he trusts mingyu and he has become fond of the younger, making it impossible for him to mistrust the tall guy, but it could also be wishful thinking on his part.
both wonwoo and jihoon just could not believe the possibility of mingyu being a possible ally or worse, a suspect but the fact that he's a cousin of the possible suspect in this case is already enough to make him suspicious but knowing that the tan guy had previously saved wonwoo's life, it was so difficult to do so.
and no matter how much wonwoo denied it, he had feelings for the tall guy that he couldn't tell anybody about, not even his closest friends.
mingyu has always been special to wonwoo, but it doesn't matter in this situation.
after all, mingyu is linked and acquainted to the maroon-haired man who also happens to be the case's main suspect.
on the other hand, the pink-haired had previously suspected mingyu in the past but has now brush that idea off after realizing how close wonwoo, his close friend, to that person.
was it the right choice? is it really a good decision to put his trust in someone he didn't know very well? until now, jihoon didn't know if his action is right.
