mingyu has been in the institution for several months, and today is the day he will be released.
fortunately, the man seemed to be entirely restored to his former self.
he was no longer suffering episodes, panic attacks, or displaying indicators of a split personality problem, and everyone at the asylum was ecstatic with the progress the tall man had made throughout his time.
with the aid of everyone who has been by his side during this ordeal, he has been able to overcome his trauma.
jihoon, jeonghan, and wonwoo were tasked with accompanying the tall guy mingyu and carefully sending him away.
"do you have a place you can stay at?" jeonghan said of the tall, tan man.
he said, "i'm not sure but i'll look for one doctor."
"would that be simple for you?" jihoon asked.
he shrugged his shoulders."but i'll give it my best shot," he said.
he's currently packing all of the clothes the doctors gave him as a gift, and they've even provided him with enough pocket money to last him five months.
"how about staying at my apartment for a bit till you find a place of your own?" suggested wonwoo.
surprised, mingyu cocked his head.
"i mean, because i'm staying at the doctor's dorm here, i seldom go home at all, so i really wouldn't mind if you used my house," he continued.
"now that you've mentioned that, i see that you have a point there," said jeonghan.
"but doctor, wouldn't that be strange?" mingyu wondered.
"strange? what is?" asked a perplexed wonwoo.
"A former asylum patient with a mental problem will be staying at his doctor's house after his discharge," he responded.
wonwoo paused for awhile, realizing how hasty he was in offering him his place to stay at.
to shift the topic, jihoon asked, "then, do you know any of your relatives' phone numbers?"
"no," he said, shaking his head."i don't have any close relatives with whom i keep in contact; as far as i recall, they flew outside the country the exact day i was admitted here," mingyu explained as the physicians sighed.
"but are you truly okay on your own?" wonwoo asked.
mingyu smiled at him. this one hasn't been seen by the black haired in a long time."i'm alright," he said.
"are you sure you didn't know anyone you could stay with?" jeonghan asked once again.
"like a friend, colleagues, or something?" said jihoon.
"friends?" mingyu pondered for a moment."right, i remember someone i know," mingyu continued. "i still have a distant cousin, but we weren't really close."
"really?" wonwoo said in relief.
"yeah," the taller one hummed as he replied.
"then, do you have his phone number?" jeonghan questioned.
"i guess i still know his number if he didn't change it after a year," the taller replied.
"i forgot to bring my phone," replied wonwoo, a tiny grimace on his face.
"we're the same," jeonghan replied, "i left it at my office."
"you can use my phone," jihoon said, offering the taller man his phone, which he eagerly accepted as he quickly typed down the number and dialed it in no time.
before the other line picked up, the phone rang for a long time.
"thank god," muttered wonwoo to himself, happy that the younger could stay with a relative after his release.
"hey," mingyu said to the other person on the line. "it's me, mingyu, your cousin."
the other line spoke for several minutes before the conversation was cut off with the other line indicating he will be there in a minute.
the four of them sat silently on an outside bench, waiting for mingyu's cousin to arrive.
after a half-hour wait, a flashy red sedan pulled up in front of them, and a man emerged from the vehicle.
he, like his cousin mingyu, is quite attractive.
they definitely share the same blood; attractive features must be in their dna.
his dark maroon hair and pale complexion go well together, his piercing eyes and crimson lips are complemented by his flawlessly pointed nose.
as soon as he sees his cousin, he smiles."it took you an eternity to finally get out of that hell," the newcomer stated, clearly referring to the asylum.
jihoon remained sitting in the same location and stared at the new guy with a wrinkled eyebrow as the four conversed more.
wonwoo asked, "are you his cousin?"
"i'm sure i am," the maroon-haired man said, flashing his trademark killer smile.
"that seems very apparent, you both have good genes." jeonghan joked, as they all laughed at his joke.
while busy examining the maroon haired guy's face, the pink-haired doctor couldn't help but thought to himself. he seems quite familiar.
he could care less about what the four are discussing.
i'm not sure where i saw him, or had i even met him before? jihoon pondered to himself once more, desperately trying to recall where he had seen those familiar face.
the new guy grew more and more familiar to the mentioned petite and pink-haired doctor the more he talked and moved and jihoon would be lying if he said his entire system didn't shut down as a startling insight hit him like a storm of terrible reality.
he hasn't seen the maroon-haired man in person, but he seems eerily similar to what soonyoung described to the pink-haired doctor long ago.
it happened a month before the formal release of mingyu.
soonyoung once described a man in his dream who was dressed in a black suit with a maroon polo inside and had matching maroon hair.
he has a fair complexion, an enticing lips that are crimson like blood spilling from a freshly killed victim, and piercing dark eyeballs like a hawk, roaming alone in the lonely night sky.
that's right, if the man in soonyoung's dream is true, he would definitely looked like this guy. the doctor couldn't help but thought of it.
it was almost frightening how much he resembled the man in soonyoung's dream who was clutching the gun, which he had described to the doctor.
soonyoung's description of the man was spot on with the appearance of the man in front of him, and jihoon couldn't help but be concerned by it.
jihoon grew pale and leapt from his seat to dash into the asylum without anyone noticing.
as if a bucket of cold water had been poured at him in the dead of winter, his face turned pale.
jihoon, it could have been a coincidence. he kept telling himself that one, and that the dream soonyoung had a month ago would never come true.
