A/n I am currently writing these in a notebook from here on out before I write each oneshot. This one ended up being seven pages... Oopsies but hope you enjoy

Y/n's POV     (Two years before the Raccoon Incident)

The school bell rang through the halls of the high school. I hurried to my locker to make sure I had been able to get there safely. But even still the people bump into me, most don't say sorry but there are a special few who still have manners. One time I was late leaving from class, I was constantly shoved against the wall as well as the lockers.

I made my way through the busy halls, making it to my locker. I put in the lock code but it kept being stubborn so I had to redo it multiple times. I gathered all of the binders that I needed for the next day.

I was walking into the direction of my little cousin Ashley Graham. She was ten now, but she still didn't mind me babysitting her. She was smart, she loved to try to sneak around the house to steal a snack from her parents' pantry. Someday they might be able to move out of Raccoon and into the White House. Since her father is running for the election.

I knew he'd succeed since he was a good man. He believed in helping people, he always tried his best. I feel envious because Ashley knows her father, whereas I do not. Mother always speaks fondly of him, but whenever I ask about him, she gives no answer.

I break myself out of my thoughts to look down the street. To see a little girl jumping excitedly. Awaiting for me to get close enough. She had a big innocent little smile playing on her lips, a red t-shirt and jean shorts just above her knee. All my worries about school slips away, as does hers.

Once I get close enough, she runs to me. Jumping into my arms, I spin her around. We both giggle, as I set her down. She takes my hand to lead me inside where I wave goodbye to Mr. Graham.

She danced and wanted to sing. So I joined in with her, singing to the music. Time flew by, it was fun. She was like the little sister I never had. She changed her mind about singing and dancing and wanted to play a zombie game.

We played the game, she created the rules herself, we had to escape the cult group before we turned into zombies. Part of me felt uneasy, maybe just because I was paranoid. I shoved away the thought without thinking twice about it.

As the hours passed, it was getting dark. Ashley was getting quite tired so I had brought her to her room. She was so close to sleep when she darted up. Almost smashing her head off mine.

"Are you gonna ask out that boy that lives across the street?" My breathing stopped, so did my heart.

"Uh.." I am unable to think of something. "What do you mean Ash?"

"I know you like him. What's his name again?" I sigh, a small smile playing at my lips.

"His name is Leon. And no I'm not going to ask him out."

"I hope you do, he's very nice and I hear him talk about you," she says innocently.

"I doubt that young one." I say trying to get her to lay back down.

"It's true Y/n, he does. Why do you have no hope?"

"Because I'm not a hopeful person when it comes to dating little one." I reply. Hoping she'll drop it. She makes a face, the one she makes when she's thinking.

"I'll make sure you two get together." she yawns, her eyes slowly closing. I smile at her hope. I slowly get up making my way to her door.

I take one glance back at her sleeping form before I close it. A knock sounding at the door makes me jump. I hurry to the door to check the peephole. Beyond the door stands Leon.
