One week earlier

The house was in my vision, I was ready. I started my way across the yard quickly and silently. My every move calculated and careful. One mess up and the whole mission will fail. This was Umbrella's small headquarters . I was getting there, so focused I leaped into one of the windows, feet falling silently. Gun pointed and ready to shoot, I didn't realize no one was behind me. I was in, I saw Isaacs right there. I heard the release on the of the shot. I flew back into the wall and fell to the ground.

Everything happened so fast, the flames grew in seconds overtaking everything in its path, I screamed, for the first time in so long. The flames attacked my skin and I backed up falling over. Crawling to the door, but the house was so unstable from the blast, the support beams fell in front of me the fire taunting me, laughing with its wicked sound.  My vision was blurry and I could only see the flames. The pain was surreal, and I knew that I wouldn't make it out alive.

Another support beam fell on me, I grunted and tried to squirm out of the trap. But it was no use, I had nothing left. This was my end.

I don't remember when my eyes closed, but I felt my body move, and I knew I was still alive. Covered with beams and surrounding destruction. I tried to move, I tried to call for someone. But my voice was lost... I couldn't find the strength to speak.

Confusion took over my mind, causing me to feel dizzy and angered. Who ordered it when they knew we were supposed to go in?

And if they changed their mind, why would they not tell me?

So many questions flying through my troubled mind. I could feel the burns on my arms and legs. It hurt to move, but I heard someone coming. In hopes that it was someone from my squad, I moved around to make noise. And indeed it was, but they saw me... Looked down and walked away, I tried screaming but it was no use, nothing would come out.

My eyes started to droop and no matter how hard I tried to get up... To stay awake... It just got harder and harder to open them... I wanted to get up, and fight the sleepiness.

But I had lost the fight in me... My eyes closed, and I worried that it was the last time I would awake again...

Hours passed before I woke up again, feeling slightly better, I could feel my voice come back in the slightest. I managed to finally put all my strength into pushing the debris off of me. I managed to get most of it off so I could sit up. Ashes still falling from the sky,  I looked around at the remains of the house, bodies everywhere except Isaacs' I groan, searching for some water, the pain is excruciating with every step I take. I finally find water, fresh water. The water on my burns feel so good, I scavenge for any resources that were still intact from the house. I find a med kit as well as a machete. I cut some of the smaller trees with it to make myself a shelter. Each day passing on, I feel myself enjoying the time alone... Until one day I hear a click of a gun.

I turn around and see a man, blondeish brown hair depending on the lighting, and he is very handsome.

"Do you know where the President's daughter is?" I shrug, eyes still held with his. I can see him quickly look me over, a small smirk playing on my lips.   A small blush appearing on his cheeks from him realizing I got him looking.

"No I don't cowboy."

"How'd you get here? You don't look like the other villagers."

"I was on a mission, Umbrella had a base here, classified stuff but they left me for dead anyways. They burned the house I was in I could have killed Dr. Isaacs right then and there."

"Umbrella is still working with Bio-weapons? They should have been dealt with  when the incident at Raccoon occurred," I nod.

"Damn Right cowboy. But it's whatever, why you here and whats your name?"

" My name's Leon, and I'm here for the president's daughter. Rescue Mission. What's your name sweetheart?"

"Liz, I wish I could go home, see my family ya know... But it would be so difficult for them. Thinking I was dead but really I'm alive... Same with my friends. It's been a week or so now..." I trail off, I can't help but feel lost...

"Liz, that's a pretty name, Come with me. I'll bring you home." He probably noticed how my eyes shot up and a small smile crept onto my lips.

"You would really do that?" I ask.

"Of course, you help me find and get Ashley and I bring you home to your family. And maybe we could ya know, get to know each other."

"I can't thank you enough Leon, this means more to me then I could ever explain to you." I hug him.

"It's okay sweetheart. Trust me, I won't stop till I have you safe with your family." My heart races.

He kisses me on the forehead. " We should sleep and get some rest and then we will get Ashley. And figure out a way home." I nod as we lay side by side. Talking to one another before I fall asleep, although I feel him pull me against him. And we both sleep, getting ready for what we were about to face.
