35. I Don't Dance

I see her, her hair shining in the moonlight. Falling perfectly around her face, she looks back to me with a smile as she runs. I follow after her, the feeling of her slipping away. Telling me to come get her, as she dances. I wanna take her hand but I'm too scared... For a man who's faced zombies... is scared of being in love.

I'll never settle down,

That's what I always thought

Yeah, I was that kind of man,

Just ask anyone

I've always been distant, not enough... Too engulfed in my past... My pain... I never wanted to have anyone bear the sight of me as broken pieces that are struggling to fall apart. But the way you smile, the way you laugh. Your eyes as they squint when you smile, your giggles personality. You become the one I look to, I need...

I don't dance, but here I am

Spinning you around and around in circle

It ain't my  style, but I don't care

I'd do anything with you anywhere

Yes, you got me in the palm of your hand

'Cause I don't dance

I take your hand in mine and we begin to spin, it was just us. Just you and me, everything else disappeared around us. Your eyes looked into mine and I could feel my heartbeat race because of your touch, because of how close we were. Our feet working together in sync. My arm around your waist as your dress flows behind you.

Love's never come my way,

I've never been this far

'Cause you took these two left feet and waltzed away with my heart

Our foreheads touched as we moved around the dance floor, your smile never fell, and neither did mine. Those who watched us took their pictures as we danced. Something you taught me the first time we met. That night we had hung out and you were drunk. So was I and you forced me to dance. We both fell, laughing and giggling. We kept on ever since, and soon I could feel my heart pound when I saw you.  You became my everything, and that day when you told me you loved me, you couldn't look into my eyes, fearing that you would be rejected. When I lifted up your chin, finally ready to show you I felt the same way, I pressed my lips against yours, moving in sync as we pulled each other closer until we had to break for air.

No, I don't  dance, but here I am

Spinning you round and round in circles,

It ain't my style, but I don't care

Well I'd do anything with you anywhere

This is where I want to be, here with you. For as long as we live. I never want to lose you. Your the only one who understands me, my best friend who is my everything. You tell me the same thing all the time. You show how much I mean to you, as I show you how much you mean to me. Always there, throughout the good and the bad times. I'm glad I found you. You were the light during my darkest hour, reaching me from above, because your an angel.

I don't dance, but here I am

Spinning you round and round in circles

It ain't my style, but I don't care

I'd do anything with you anywhere

Yeah, you got me in the palm of your hand, girl

'Cause I don't dance.

The song ends as I pull away, hands still entwined with yours. Your dress white as snow, beautiful. Your eyes glow with happiness as everyone cheers. Tapping their glasses with their knives at the tables.

I kiss you, not wanting to let go. We both pull away for air. Your smile radiates around the room. Nothing but you fills my eyes.

You are everything to me.

"I love you most, cowboy."
