Y/n's POV

I awoke to a clatter of metal objects hitting a cement floor. My eyes had to adjust to the room I was in. I could feel the straps holding onto my arms. I groaned, this was now the worst birthday ever....

All because I had to play a hero, and who am I kidding?

I'm no hero... Not at all. I'm not brave, or strong...

But I tried...

I always tried my hardest to help those around me...

I see the door open, Wesker walking in with some other man.

"Ahh this is the girl you were talking about?" The man asks. Wesker nodding in response.

"Why do all the smart ones have to try to stop our plans?" he muses.

"What do you want?" I growl. The man smiles.

"You, for our little expirements. I know you stole files... You know what we are doing here. I know it. We don't want you to tell anyone. So we're gonna see if you survive."

It felt like decades after I first got there. The expirements changed me, but not in the way they had thought. I reacted to it differently than the others. I had strange powers. This started a year and a half of being there.

It's going on it's third year now, almost my birthday once again. I thought of my parents... What I had remembered anyway. They had tried wiping my memory, but it didn't work out too well. I remembered some but I did forget some as well.

Sometimes I feel a longing to this man that I picture, I can't remember his name... All I know is the possibility of it starting with an L.

Even then I wasn't even sure, if it was an L. I sighed... The name on the tip of my tongue, but I couldn't say it.

I couldn't call out for help...

Then I heard screaming, lots and lots of screaming.

Many men and women were saying the same thing. I felt bad for some of them.

"They got out!"

I could only imagine what they were talking about. It was later confirmed by the screaming and the groans and growls of the zombies.

I was still stuck in my room. Hooked on the bed, they let me walk sometimes. Just to make sure my muscles wouldn't stiffen. They had to upgrade the room over time, because of my increasing strength. I burned one of the walls and one of the men by accident. I hadn't meant too... He was just too close and I got scared. He only had some minor burns but I felt horrible. I ripped off the cuffs, starting to pace around the room.

Some of the people here were nice, they helped me get through the pain and agony... I hoped they survived. The others however can be eaten alive and they won't be missed.

I sigh, giving up on looking for an escape. It was no use, there was no way out except this door.

I don't know how long I waited... It must have been hours by now.... I couldn't get up, sleep taking over me... Until I heard the gunshots. The shots gave me hope. Someone might be able to save me... After so long...

I cried for help, banging on the reinforced steel wall. Tears starting to well up in my eyes.

"Help me," I choke out. Slipping to the floor. Hope slowly drifting away with every second I banged on the door.

I was going to give up, until the door moved out of the way. I was met with a familiar face.

"Y/n?!" the male looked at me with worry clear on his features.

"I know you... I know you..." I say, unable to find the name to this man. His blond hair... his beautiful eyes... Now I know why I longed for him. Even after I forgot his name.

"It's me Leon." Leon... Leon... That's it... I know him.

"L-Leon?"

"Oh my god Y/n. Are you okay? Are you hurt? What did they do?"

Instead of answering him, I pulled him to me. Placing my lips on his. He immediately kisses back. Holding me tightly. He slowly pulls away.

"I... I have forgotten somethings... Like your name but I do remember you..." I admit. I notice his uniform.

"It's been five years, Y/n,"

"Five? I thought it was three..."

"It's okay, I'm here now and never letting you go again."

"Promise?"

"With my life."
