[9] Starting Over Again

SYDNEY'S POV

"Hihihi!"

I woke up when I felt someone poking my face. I shoved it away

"Lynx, stop it." I heard Zylan's voice.

I slowly open my eyes and saw my daughter smiling at me while Zylan is sitting on the edge of the bed and talking to someone over the phone.

"Damn him. I won't attend that shitty meeting--"

"Dada! Bad!" Lynx slapped her back which made me surprised. Zylan sighed and put her phone down to the side table. Then she smiled at Lynx and looked at me. She quickly turns away, made me realized something...

I'm still naked, in front of my daughter.

I quickly sat up and covered my body with the blanket, hugging it. Zylan lift Lynx up and walked out of the room. Good thing, she's a good observer.

Last night, I knew it. It happened. We did it again. I gave myself to her again. After two years, I surrendered myself to the same person

I knew I shouldn't let it go that far, but no, I can't lie to myself and deny that I'm longing for Zylan. Her hugs, her kisses, her touches. I longed for all of it.

The door opened, revealing Zylan on her boxers. She locked the door and sat on the edge of the bed. She looks so problematic. And I am one of it.

"Sydney?" I looked up to her.

"Y-Yes?" I can't stop myself from stuttering my words. My heart is beating fast. I'm really nervous what she's going to say.

"You do know what happened last night? Are you aware of it?" she asked.

"O-Of course..."

"That also means that you're done torturing me for the second time?" What she just said made my eyes widened. I stared at her and there's a cold expression written on her face.

"No!" I crawled up to her and forget the sheets. I cupped her face and saw pain, hurt, longing and scared.

"I'm sorry, I never meant to leave. I know I'm too selfish not think that you need me, Lynx needs me. I have a family that needed me. I became too self-centered. I gave too much attention and listened to those people who insulted me. I couldn't take those insults. That time, all I wanted just to a normal teenage girl who hangs out with her friends, fooling around, I wanted those things back so bad......" My eyes started to watered. I can't lie to her. I want her to know my side.

"After I left you, I continued my studies. I became a normal teenager again. I had everything I wanted but I realized, I have someone left behind. I have a daughter already. I've had someone who loved me despite of everything happened. Then I saw you on the rooftop, I felt like there's a hope inside me that maybe I can go back and take you and our daughter back in my life again. I want to from my mistakes. I want to make it up to you, for the lost times. For everything I did."

"I loved you Zylan and until now, I still do. So please, let me heal and fix what I broke between us..."

She stood up but I hugged her back to stop her. She didn't do anything.

"Your sorry won't mean anything if you'll leave me again."

"I won't. I promise. I love you."

Zylan turns around and stared at me. She cupped my face and gave me a deep kiss. I can feel her longing to me. I responded to her by kissing her back. It's morning yet we're having an early make-out session here but I don't care. We pulled away before she speaks.
