p e t r i c h o r
/ˈpeˌtrīkôr/
noun
a pleasant smell that frequently accompanies the first rain after a long period of warm, dry weather.
"try using your skills for something good,
something that will make your life positive!"
she said
so i did
i opened my heart to the sky
and the clouds
and the wind
i laid in the grass
and i closed my eyes
unbothered by all moving things
tears fled from my eyes
what i thought was grief
was commonly mistaken
i was withering
and my sky was only raining
i laid in wonder
i listened to the beautiful disruptions in my mind
the rain
the birds
the thunder
no
not rain
tears
but crying never made me feel weaker
it was a release to push me to somewhere meeker
so i lay there
internally and externally for hours
repeating to myself
no rain, no flowers
no rain, no flowers.
