I can't explain how I knew it, but I knew she'd accept my challenge. Something had told me that she'd never back down from a challenge. She had guts I'd give her that. I was the fastest in my pack. There wasn't a single wolf in my pack that could beat me. Even Greg, as close to speed as he was, couldn't beat me. I had every confidence that she wouldn't be able to either. Then again she didn't really know who she was up against. She didn't know what we were, but she did know we were different.

I cursed myself for the millionth time that day as I made my way toward the gym with Greg close at my heels. I don't know what had kept me from being able to keep my thoughts to myself and instead I had spoken them out loud like an idiot giving her the opportunity to question me about it. It wasn't that I didn't want to tell her I was a werewolf, but before I did I wanted the security that she wouldn't run for the hills or at the very least leave this town. Past the barrier walls were about the only place I couldn't follow her.

"What's eating you?" I heard Greg ask.

"Nothing." I denied as we walked through the doors to the gym. I didn't want to tell him what I'd done. Not yet at least. I knew he'd give some spew about making the wrong choice and putting our whole pack in jeopardy as a result. I didn't want to tell him yet that she was my mate either. I felt like, for now at least, it was better to keep it to myself.

He dropped the subject like I knew he would. And my eyes scanned the gym like they always had taking note of the people in my class. I nodded my head to coach when he smiled warmly at me. And then I saw her. There she stood stretching out her muscles in her tight grey shorts which came down mid-thigh. Her tank top was snug against her body showing off her curves. Her long chestnut brown hair pulled back into a loose pony tail as she looked my way and grinned like she had already known my eye were on her. Her green eyes filled with mischief as she winked and continued with her stretching.

"Like what you see?" I heard her whisper under her breath and my lungs forgot to breathe for a moment. What game was she playing?

I small growl sounded from my chest as I looked around noticing that every guy in our gym class was staring at her as if she were a goddess. She smirked in response as she bent over to touch her toes and glanced my way again her teeth showing as her smile widened.

"So you can hear me from across the room can't you?" She asked as Greg had walked into the change rooms.

"Enough Lady." I whispered back. "You don't know what you tease. And put some fucking clothes on."

"Last I checked I was wearing some. If you'd like I can remove them." She whispered back as she stretched her arms over her head thrusting out her chest in the process.

"Don't you dare." I growled under my breath. My wolf was possessive and didn't like the way this teasing was going. I could feel my body beginning to shake with anger and my wolf rising to the surface as she began to lift her shirt up just slightly only making it to above her belly button before cracking into a hysterical fit of laughter.

"You should... calm yourself... Colt." She whispered between fits while every stared at her as if she'd lost her mind. "Your eyes are glowing." And another fit of laughter took her over causing her to fall to the ground and Liam to back away from her as if she scared him.

My jaw clenched at her teasing before I'd realised what she'd said. My eyes were glowing. I glanced her way as she smirked at me knowing I was barely in control of myself. She had no fear in her as she met my eyes, hers filled with amusement as she watched me close mine and try to regain control.

Growling I turned and walked into the change rooms wondering at why she didn't freak out that my eyes had changed before her and she had just continued her teasing. What was that about to begin with? I knew she hated me and yet she was acting as if she enjoyed getting under my skin. Maybe this was her form of payback and if so I wasn't sure I'd survive it. She'd angered Greg but she was testing my desire with her little stunt and that was an emotion I've never experienced before. I didn't know how to react.
