Lauren stared at the ceiling, mentally debating whether Barb was worth spending hours with Steve McPerfection and his gang. She wanted to help Barbara, but she genuinely couldn't stand the thought of an evening with Carol and Tommy.
Dustin was at Mike's and her mother was watching a stupid soap opera. So Lauren decided that her best bet was to go.
She adjusted her light blue shirt and put on a pair of dark jeans. She grabbed her sneakers and told her mom that she was going to the thing that they planned at school for Will.
She grabbed her jacket and rode her bike as the young Byer's boy flooded her mind. She must've been hallucinating in that bathroom. But what if she wasn't?

Lauren sat close to Barb as she tried to physically dodge a conversation with any of the three.
They started chugging beer and Steve walked by Lauren. He decided to try being nice to the girl, at least for Nancy's sake.
He held out a can towards the girl. "Wanna try?" he asked her.
"If you get that thing any closer to me I'll show you where to shove it Harrington" she threatened. "Woah, woah okay I didn't mean to piss you off Henderson" he smirked as he raised his hands up in surrender.
He found himself starting to like Lauren lately, although he wouldn't admit it to a single soul.
"Oh come on Cheerioo take a chug" Tommy chimed in. Steve then bent down so that he and Lauren were on the same level and she looked at him with an empty stare.
"Don't let them make fun of you, Lauren" he whispered as he left the beer can next to her hand. Lauren couldn't help but want to scoff at his words, she found it ironic coming from him.
"Fine" she whispered after a while. She grabbed the beer and chugged it in seconds. She looked up to see Tommy and Carol with open jaws. Steve smiled at the Henderson girl, while Nancy and Barbara chuckled.
Later on Barbara attempted to chug a can which resulted with a bloody finger and not too long after that Lauren's two best friends argued.
Lauren took Barbara's side for obvious reasons. And by the end of the night the two found themselves sitting by the pool, looking hella miserable.
"You know that she'll apologize tomorrow right?" Lauren told Barbara. "Yeah I know, i'm not really mad at her. I just know she's making a mistake" Barbara replied as she kicked the water.
"What do you think they're doing up there?" she gave Barbara a knowing smirk. "Ew Lauren" Barbara scrunched her face in disgust and soon the two started laughing at things that didn't make sense.
"I saw Will" Lauren suddenly said out loud. "What did you say?" Barbara asked hoping she heard wrong.
"Will Byers. I saw him" Lauren looked down, nervously playing with her fingers. "Where? Where Lauren? His parents are worried sick" Barb said, turning to fully face her friend.
