I lost my way all the way to you and in you i found all the way back to me

Lauren Henderson lived an extraordinary life, at least that's how she liked to describe it.
Until it all went downhill.

Lauren stared at the ceiling, mentally debating whether Barb was worth spending hours with Steve McPerfection and her middle school bullies. She wanted to help Barbara, but she genuinely couldn't stand the thought of an evening with Carol and Tommy.
Dustin was at Mike's and her mother was watching a stupid soap opera again. So Lauren decided that her best bet was to go.
She adjusted her light blue shirt and put on a pair of dark jeans. She grabbed her sneakers and told her mom that she was going to the event that they planned at school for Will.
She grabbed her jacket and rode her bike as the young Byer's boy flooded her mind. She must've been hallucinating in that bathroom.
But what if she wasn't?
...
Lauren arrived to Steve's house half an hour later than Barb and Nancy. She parked her bike outside and looked at the house. Harrington's large two story home lived up to the rumors she'd heard at school...this dude's house was so huge it almost made her uncomfortable.
Her tiny home flashed into her mind. Nights crammed on the sofa in the living room with her mom and Dustin watching show reruns and voting which was the best flashed in her mind. She smiled.
She slowly walked up to the front door, rung the doorbell and stood.
Two minutes later, Steve opened the door. "Oh hey. Didn't think you were coming" he said as he offered Lauren a smile. "Hey Steve" Lauren said as she walked in and took in Steve's house. "Nice place" she said.
The house was beautifully decorated, but way too big considering Steve lived here alone with his parents. Lauren heard how often Steve's parents travelled, and with no siblings she wondered how he spent his time alone.
"What are you thinking?" Steve asked, looking at the Henderson girl...wondering how the chain of events led to her ever coming to his house. "Nothing...where's everyone?" she asked, worried he's seeing through her.
He paused for a second. "By the pool, come on its this way" Steve said as he led Lauren outside.
Lauren sat close to Barb as she tried to physically dodge a conversation with any of the three. "This is fun" she whispered sarcastically at Barb who gave her a knowing look.
Carol and Tommy started chugging beer and Steve walked by Lauren. He decided to try being nice to the girl, at least for Nancy's sake.
He held out a can towards her. "Wanna try?" he asked her, attempting to be casual.
"If you get that thing any closer to me I'll show you where to shove it Harrington" she threatened. Barb held in a laugh, Nancy's mouth dropped a few feet away.
"Woah, woah okay I didn't mean to piss you off Henderson" he smirked as he raised his hands up in surrender. Lauren smiled, and that was the most normal interaction they had this whole year.
