Lauren's eyes fluttered open once the soft light entered her room through the window. She sat up and looked at the sun as it rose from behind the horizon.

This was Lauren's favorite time of the day, when it was peaceful enough that she could almost hear heartbeat pulse in her ears.

After a while, she decided to get her day started. She rose off the bed and headed to her closet. She picked out an outfit for school before she headed to the bathroom to start her routine.

"Good morning sister" Dustin said as Lauren left the bathroom. "Good morning brother" Lauren smiled at him. "Well, someone's in a good mood" he said teasingly and she rolled her eyes at him with a smile still plastered on her face.

"Does this sudden burst of happiness have anything to do with Max's older brother, by any chance?" Dustin asked, with an evil grin.

"Dustin, I swear to god if you start-" she started before she was cut off by Dustin. "Lauren and Billy sitting in a tree k- AHH It TICKLES!" She tackled him to the floor as she tickled the living shit out of him so that he would shut up.

...

After arriving to school with Billy, Lauren ignored the jealous stares and the whispers as the teens ran in and barely made it to class on time.

"Who leaves the house 7 minutes before school starts?" Lauren criticized and Billy rolled his eyes. "Susan made pancakes" was all he said before they went their separate ways to get to class.

By the afternoon, Lauren made her usual walk through the high school's hallway. She saw a few people she knew and smiled at them.

She walked up to her locker and as she neared it she noticed Billy talking to Carol, who was leaning on her locker as she flirtatiously looked up at him.

Seeing that was annoying as shit and immediately Lauren had an unbelievable urge to pull Carol's hair. She took a deep breath as she mentally restrained herself.

"Hey Carol, I hate to break this beautiful conversation you were having but do you mind moving it elsewhere please?" Lauren said, obviously being fake nice with Carol, who scoffed and mumbled a 'whatever' before she stepped away from Lauren's locker.
