When Steve arrived, Lauren and Dustin immediately started coming up with ideas for a plan.
And after a few minutes of blurting out random shit, the three settled on the option of letting Dart come to them.
That meant that they needed bait, a lot of it. So they emptied out about 50 cans of raw and disgusting meat into buckets, hoping a trail of that would be enough to catch the mini Demogorgon's attention.
Dustin kept on giving Lauren weird looks and she was certain that it had something to do with him finding Billy in her room. The two didn't talk about it, in fact Lauren could barely look at him after that whole ordeal.
"What is up with you guys today?" Steve asked as he made space in his car's trunk.
"Nothing" they both shrugged, making Steve realize that, indeed, something was up.
"This is Lucas. Do you copy? Dustin!" they all looked at Dustin's machine as Dustin breathed out in relief.
"Well, well, well. Look who it is" Dustin said, looking up as he put his hands on his hips.
He walked away for a bit as he filled Lucas in on what had happened.
"You seem happier" Steve pointed out as Lauren handed him one of the buckets to put in the trunk.
"How can you tell?" she asked and he looked up at her. "Lauren" he started, turning to face her with an obvious look. "I've never seen anyone look happier as they emptied meat into buckets" he said, making her laugh.
She looked down with a small smile. "I'm guessing Billy had something to do with that?" Steve smirked at her and her mouth dropped.
"Keep your voice down, oh my god" she said looking at Dustin to see that he was far enough not to hear them.
"He'll know at some point" Steve said as he rearranged the stuff. "Yeah, I just hoped it wasn't this soon" she whispered and Steve's head popped back up.
"He knows now?!" he exclaimed. "Who knows now?" Dustin said as he walked over, and Lauren covered her face with her hands.
"Nothing" Steve shrugged. "If its about her boyfriend. I know, and I don't approve" Dustin said, giving Lauren side eye.
"Well, shit he knows" Steve said, shaking his head. "Yeah, now shut up" Lauren told the two.
"Yeah I wish the way I found out wasn't going to haunt me in my dreams" Dustin whispered and Lauren gave him a death glare.
"How'd you find out?" Steve asked.
"NO, shut up!" Lauren exclaimed, putting her hand out as if to contain the situation. Dustin only smirked and leaned on Steve's car.
